We are a couple (in our 50s) and stayed for 2 nights and 3 days. I was very satisfied with Asahi Sanso (although the building is showing its age, haha) due to the manager's wonderful kindness, hospitality, delicious food, and fun conversation. The hot springs at the inn are indoors, but the hot springs that make your skin feel so smooth and slippery are the best.I've been to many hot springs, but this was the most impressive. I also enjoyed the beauty bath (open-air bath) as it was only a 1 minute walk away! For the meal, we had local vegetables, a special hot pot of wild boar hotpot (on the first day), and a duck hotpot (on the second day), and we ate to our fill. It was very delicious. The location is very convenient as it is close to the Japanese serow monument and the beauty bath. In addition, the host introduced us to various sightseeing spots in the Sumata Gorge Onsen area, even though we had no plans. We walked around Nagashima Dam, the hiking course at Kojo Station, Horai Bridge, and saw many suspension bridges and bridges. I was able to thoroughly enjoy the scenery and nature during the crossing. This is an inn where the manager's hospitality is the best, and his interaction and smile will double the memories you have at the hot spring resort and the goodness of Sumatakyo Onsen.
