Ugh. Where to start with this hotel? I'm not sure what I hated the most. The two full days without power or running water? The construction work on site with the constant noise and pollution from diggers and heavy machinery and wagons? Kavos being the most vile shanty town with dead cats by the side of the road, falling down buildings, overflowing bins? Or maybe it was the disgusting cold buffet uncovered in the heat with flies all over it? On the days when the power and water went off, food was still being served. No hand washing facilities for guests or staff but everyone was touching the serving utensils with their unwashed hands, food made by staff who can't wash their hands or cooking equipment. It's illegal to do this in the UK. Four star hotel? Absolutely not. TUI might tell you this place has a chilled, laid back vibe but I promise you it's impossible to relax by the pool with the construction noise. The smell of raw sewage from the drains on the days the water was off was beyond disgusting. It filled the entire room and made us gag. I'm a nurse, it takes a lot for me to gip at smells but it felt like the room was filled with marsh or swamp gas. It was vile. I can't overstate this enough, avoid this hotel and resort. Also Kavos closes for the season in September, so even if it wasn't a total dump and you wanted to go to some local bars, you're stuck for choice because it's almost all entirely closed until 1st May.

THIS IS NOT A 4 STAR HOTEL. You pay your money and you take your chance. I don't do reviews but feel I need to on this one. Whatever people have said before about the poor quality and the food I'm sorry to say it's all correct. We refused our first room, as did other guests, because we booked a deluxe double which it certainly was not, the room we were given was better but only just. There is no proper hanging space for clothes, you get 6 coat hangers on a rail above the kettle, no wardrobe! I personally removed the shower head and took it to reception and asked for a new one, the old one was blocked with lime scale and black/mouldy as was the edging around the bathroom floor. The bed was comfy although you'll only get one pillow each and I'm not convinced the bites we received were from mozzies as the balcony door was kept closed! The batteries and back of the remote for the Aircon was missing. Tea/coffee was not replenished. Halfway through the week we no longer had bath towels we were just left with 2 hand/face towels. I won't bother commenting on the food as it's all been said before by others, along with plenty of other guests we chose to eat out 👍🏻 The pool and the area around it was clean, but be warned if you try and have an apple or suchlike while your laying in the sun reading your book, you'll get told off like a naughty child! You can only eat and drink things purchased from the pool bar (which is pricey) and I don't think they sell apples! I know the beach is nothing to do with the hotel but I wouldn't walk my dog on it, broken glass and discarded rubbish everywhere. There are some great reviews written here about this hotel, but not sure how genuine they are as I just didn't see what they saw.

We stayed at this hotel expecting a relaxing vacation, but unfortunately, it was far from it. The hotel is partially renovated, but we were placed in the old, unrenovated section. Our concerns about hygiene were completely ignored by the staff. The bathrooms were moldy, the furniture was extremely worn out, and the drains didn’t work properly, causing a horrible smell. On top of that, the mirror was broken in the bathroom, which was quite unsafe. The pool area was much too small to accommodate the number of guests, likely due to the new construction. Loud music blared all day, making it impossible to relax. Although a private beach was advertised on the website we booked the hotel, there was none. The buffet was somewhat varied, but the food quality was just average. The service was another major disappointment. The staff was unfriendly and unresponsive to criticism. They didn’t give us the impression that they cared about us as guests at all. Even complaints from other guests, which we overheard at reception, were blatantly ignored. When the air conditioning in our room broke, we were moved to a lower-category room outside of the main building for one night without any form of compensation. Even after we sent an official complaint by email after our stay, the hotel's response was rude and dismissive. To make matters worse, they later tried to intimidate us, claiming that our allegations were untrue and even suggested that we take legal action if we wanted to pursue the issue further. Moreover, the hotel does not live up to the images on social media or its website. The photos are very misleading, and we felt deceived by what was advertised versus what we experienced in reality, especially with regard to hygiene. As for the location, Kavos in Corfu is not a place I would recommend. It’s overrun with party tourists and has a very tacky, dirty and unattractive vibe. Overall, this was a terrible experience, and we were relieved when our vacation was finally over. Definitely would not recommend this hotel.

After reading reviews I was a little worried about what to expect, but was a fabulous stay. All the staff are extremely friendly and always helpful. There is a 7 euro per night tax which was expected. Hotel is refurbished and very nice. Rooms were clean and cleaned very day. Had friends staying in main site rooms were a little more modern but smell outside a bit some days. We stayed across the road which were good and larger shower and very quiet which is what we wanted. Food was plentiful either a good choice. Some was a little cold. Good salad and vegetarian choices. Staff were very good and brought my wife a plate straight from kitchen as vegetarian. Would definitely recommend. Don’t let minor things spoil experience.

My husband and I went to the Ekati Mare in Kavos Corfu a week ago. We booked a triple superior room with balcony or patio. However on arrival we were put across the other side of the road in a small double at the end had a dreadful tatty row of terraces at the side. We were moved to the main complex after not accepting this but they had no triple rooms available so we had no choice but to accept a double which was better . The room was alright large beds great shower and bathroom. However the toilet although had been cleaned was brown at the bottom and I fo not think bleach had ever been used. The food at breakfast was OK but at dinner although a large selection the buffet was set in a small area with cold plates so although the food was initially hot by the time you had queued up in a long line houng from dish to dish it was cold. The pool is lovely as are the sun beds and plenty of them. Bar area very small and no atmosphere. Drinks quite pricey. However the staff are lovely and go out of their way to help you. Room cleaned daily with fresh towels and sheets changed. Shame about brown toilet.

First impressions were good hotel grounds were nice. Room seemed clean enough - maid service was good in every day cleaning a fresh bedding/towels. The bed was NOT comfy mattress was the worst my as for a deluxe double - it was 2 singles pushed together. No storage, 1 drawer and a hanging rail with a handful of cost hangers, Shower/toilet - not great - shower was terrible and the shower screen only covered half the shower therefore your floor towel was soaked after 1 shower! Toilet bowl was stained and the toilet brush holder was gross and the drain was disgusting an also limescale an no bathroom fan. Bathroom smelt damp/musty 🤢 Food! We had breakfast one and it wasn’t for me not saying it was bad it was more the selection wasn’t for me! We had lunch a few time for the pool bar an it was pretty decent! Had dinner 3 times BBQ night, Greek night and Italian night. For being fussy I found smthing on the evenings we had evening meal, food was never really hot even if you did go for the start of dinner starting. Sewage charge €7 per night We did suffer from bites while away but put this down to mosquito bites. One day in the room 222 I noticed some sort of bugs on the floor all around my trainers, think I need to bin them and they are brand new. Since returning they have got worse an more have randomly been appearing and finally confirmed the bites are BED BUGS, after an emergency app at hospital today due to them going very worrying this morning and the pharmacist said phone out of hours they need to be checked urgently. Bedroom has been gutted stuff bought for mattress and hope for the best that I do not need to get a professional in to do it.

We went as a couple for a week for a relaxing holiday, but we had quite a few problems, we have very mixed feelings about this hotel because some things were good but there were several let downs. Our room 121 was very dated and it needs a refurb and we had a constant sewage smell in the bathroom, it was very strong at times, we found if we left a towel over the drain in the shower it wasnt as bad. We did complain 3 times to the hotel and the Tui rep but the answer was its quite normal for Corfu ! There is no wardrobe in the room and only 5 hangers on an open rail. There is one Drawer, and a shelf for clothing storage. The shower kept going cold which was awfull. The bathroom had mould and black marks around the shower screen etc. There are a lot of mosquitos around in October and we had to buy room spray and repellants from the supermarket, lots of people walking around with lots of bites. The room was not cleaned or serviced at all on one day so i went to reception to get some clean towels and loo roll, then 5 minutes later the cleaning supervisor appeared at our room with the maid who had missed us, they were shouting and arguing in greek and caused quite a commotion. The maid was nearly in tears and apologised profusely but the way it was handled was ridiculous, and very embarrasing. The Food in the evening was luke warm and the cuts of meat were very cheap. The Breakfast was adequate, with eggs, Ham bacon, beans etc. There are no regognisable cereals like cornflakes, but the porridge is very good, and fresh fruit and yoghurt. Queuing up to make your own toast is very slow as the pop up toaster only holds 6 slices at once for the whole restaurant, so get your toast before your warm breakfast or it will be cold by the time you have queued. They constantly run out of fried eggs, bacon, butter, cutlery etc, you have to go find someone to replenish them. The restaurant staff are not very happy, they dont smile much or chat etc. The bar/snack bar is very expensive, we ate out at lunch because the prices are too high. There are several snack bars or restaurants about 10 min walk into kavos. Hotel prices are..... BAR Fresh orange juice is 6 euros a glass coke/fanta etc small can is 3 euros Slush is 5 euros Cup of tea is 4 euros Cappucino is 5 euros milkshakes are 7 euros 0.5 litre of draught beer is 6 euros Budweiser is 7 euros Cocktails 10 to 12 euros They dont have a price list for spirits so no idea ? FOOD Greek salad/ tuna salad/ Cesar salad are 11 euros Portion chips 6 Euros Chicken nuggets 12 euros chicken wings 13 euros Club sandwich 12 euros pizzas 15 euros Burgers are 14 or 15 euros Chicken or pork gyros are 14 euros Pasta dishes are 14 euros. The pool is ok and there are plenty of sunbeds in October, and they have padded toppers so they are comfortable, there is a main pool and a small pool which was once a jaccuzi but it doesnt work any longer, it has a tiny island in the middle which has a palm tree planted in it, but it was full o

Was quite apprehensive before going due to the mixed reviews. Was pleasantly surprised as room 702 had been refurbished, only negative was lack of storage drawers otherwise lovely room. All the staff were lovely and very helpful. The food was lukewarm although plenty of choices, ate out a few times and had some lovely meals out. Highly recommend This and That for a full English breakfast (next to Co-op further down the street). Kavos itself is very rundown so wouldn't return there.
