We had an amazing stay at Hanalei Bay Resort. The views were breathtaking! The resort was beautiful and had everything you could ask for. We used the pool and went to the beach several times. We also ate dinner at both restaurants on site and enjoyed our food and experience at each restaurant. The staff was helpful and friendly. We can’t wait to come back!

Don’t try leaving your car on, standing, with your girl in the passenger seat anywhere near the hotel in order to run in and grab a pizza you pre-ordered from the pizzeria INSIDE their own hotel. Got berated by the valet guy who apparently doesn’t understand the difference between parking and standing. Will never return.

This is a lovely resort and we really enjoyed our time here. It also has a beach you can walk to or they will take you there in a golf cart. I did a timeshare exchange through Grand Pacific Exchange. I paid an exchange fee of 239.00 for this resort, plus the deposit of my resort unit (maintenance fees). However, the fees here are ridiculous. There is the resort fee $25 per day (wifi and beach towels?), a parking fee ($20 per day self park, followed by a lot of walking to your unit and hauling your things), daily taxes, and a $50 check in fee (this is a new one). Add those up and that is another $600. As a timeshare owner, I pay local taxes on my unit so when I exchange I expect those are paid by owners as well. This location is superb and the grounds are gorgeous. I just felt all these fees to be ridiculous. This is big problem across this island in particular. I would come back, I am just disheartened as a member of this exchange company.

Wonderful resort with great staff. Grounds are impeccably maintained. GREAT VIEW to die for. Quiet and family-like feeling. Front desk is very friendly and customer focused. New Weber BBQ units throughout the property. Wonderful short walk to the cozy beach.

We loved our 5 night stay here in HBR (#8131-8132). The unit: 10/10. Very luxurious and high end interior, every piece of furniture, appliances, dishes etc were upscale. The decor was simple yet very tasteful. I could purchase this property as is tomorrow. The kitchen was full loaded, and the second unit also had a small kitchenette Incase a couple wants to rent. We were 2 adults and 2 teens and the space was perfect. The view was breathtaking, lush green with multiple pieces of patio furniture. All bedrooms overlooked the bay/the mountains and perfectly groomed property. While we couldn't watch sunsets directly from our patio, we could see it walking just few steps up. If you really must see sunsets, then maybe id recommend 2nd floor units in building 9 (9000 series). The owners were also very helpful. The property: Excellent property, again 10/10. What's not to like here. The pool is big, resort style, the hot tub is fantastic with sand in the bottom, two very lovely restaurants with good drinks, pizza and food, making it very lively end of the day. Lots of lawn games, pickleball court, tennis courts. It's huge but they have golf carts help you out, we never really had to wait to pick us up, but majority of the times we just loved walking around. The pathway to the beach below is paved and lovely with tropical feel. Sunsets from that beach were phenomenal. One Hanalei hotel is right on that beach if anyone wants to go their pool bar to have drinks. The staff was very friendly. It is just 10-15 min drive to Hanalei town. The area overall is just perfect. Yes, it is expensive, so it is not something we can splurge on every time, but definitely experience this once. The check in fee of $50 is definitely a negative thing- never seen this before considering they also charge resort fee on top and parking fee.

We just finished our one week stay at Hanalei Bay. The view from our one-bedroom suite (Guava building) was stunning. The rooms are large, and we had almost everything we needed. The one bedrooms do not have washers/dryers in the unit, so we had to use the on-site facilities ($2 to wash, $2 to dry, coin only, bring your own detergent). The pool is beautiful too, but the stone floor is really rough, so be prepared. We would love to come back to the resort in the future. It is so peaceful and beautiful.

My Mom and I both LOVED this place! We stayed at three different hotels during our two weeks on Kauai and Hawaii, and this one by far was our favorite. I made a list of pros and cons for each hotel, and honestly, it was difficult to find the cons at Hanalei Bay Resort. Nevertheless, here is a rundown of our experience: We were early to check in, so we left to do some exploring and grocery shopping. When we got back, the room still wasn't quite ready (no big deal, it still wasn't even 4:00pm yet) but the ladies at the front desk offered to take our cold groceries and keep them in their fridge for us! We then strolled over to Happy Talk to have a drink and they called us to let us know the room was ready shortly after. The room was clean, large, comfortable, and had every comfort of home. The towels were SO soft!! The shampoo and conditioner was great. No room cleaning unless you stay six days or more, but that was not a big deal and you can just put your trash out the front door within a certain timeframe twice a day for pickup. We visited the Happy Talk Lounge a few times and loved it. Both food and drinks were delicious, and the views are nearly impossible to beat. The shuttle to the beach was appreciated, because wow, what a steep hike! But the beach was stunning with wonderful, enormous shade trees to sit under. The staff were all wonderful and friendly and the grounds are immaculately clean. Gorgeous views everywhere you turn. I fell in love with the pool! Way better than Hilton Waikoloa or Royal Sonesta. I know some people have said it was too cold, I thought it was perfect. Mornings were so peaceful, with a light, mist-like rain, families of chickens and Nene geese visitors, and vibrant rainbows. So, my con list is very, very short. 1. The coffee in the room wasn't great. They said it could make a pot (several cups), but we made it with enough water for just one cup and it was still a little weak. 2. Oddly enough, there were no scissors in the room, but everything else under the sun! 3. The hours are a little bit funky with Happy Talk not opening until 3pm. I know this is condo-style, and you mostly just get your own stuff, but it would have been nice to get a fancy drink by the pool! 4. Lastly, there is no way to lock your sliding glass door (or screen door) from the outside if you are on the ground floor. It wasn't a big deal, as I felt we were in a safe area, but still... Honestly, if you want absolutely stunning views, rainbows every morning, wonderful peace and quiet, and Nene and baby chickens visiting you daily, check this place out. You won't regret it. P.S. I would love to have seen the swim up pool bar in it's day! So sad it wasn't up and running....

This was our fourth stay at Hanalei Bay Resort. While the place may not have the frills of some resorts such as spa treatments, pool side drink service or a variety of restaurants we love Hanalei Bay Resort. We can't get enough of quiet mornings on the lanai enjoying the view of the mountains or water. This place is very relaxing. The onsite gym is adequate, the pool beautiful and we can always find a chair. There are multiple tennis courts and lessons can be taken. Pickleball courts are being installed too. The walk to the beach is easy and if one does not want to walk back uphill the resort will send a golf cart for you. Beach toys are available to rent at the beach from an independent activity center. The kitchen in the room is more than adequate to prepare meals. Highly recommend.

Hanalei Bay Resort #7306 has a fantastic view of the bay and local mountains. The sunsets were majestic and the sunrises were just as beautiful. The condo is a great size and well equipped for any length of stay. Those are the pros. We do have a few comments that might help the owner and future visitors. The pictures of the condo are not current, furniture and decorations are different than advertised. The nice green plants are gone, table and chairs are different, and flooring has changed. The space is not very colorful, more on the beige spectrum. Couches need a cleaning. Space needs a refresh, painting and repair of holes where it looks like items were removed but not repaired, front slotted windows look to be the original and are quite used, but still work as needed. The shower needs some help too, as mold is visible, along with a proper shower curtain (the current one is way to long and can be a trip-hazard). Some TLC would make it more beautiful to go along with the wonderful view of the bay. Now the HB Resort as a resort. The staff is wonderful and always helpful. The pools and chairs are just what you want to relax. The BBQs and eating areas are complete and clean. The grounds are well maintained, unfortunately the Hot Tub was again out of order along with the restaurant, which seems to be an ongoing issue here. The resort does seem to charge you for everything and those cost add up quickly (and to us, were too high). With all that said, we did enjoy our stay. Date of arrival - April 29, 2024
