Residence Inn Houston Katy Mills

One of the best secret gems in all of Houston. Residence Inn, Katie Mills the location is so centrally convenient. I can’t even begin to tell you all the wonderful things about the site staff-they are kind and greet you with smiles, they make you feel so welcome. All of the staff I have worked with a great, but there are a few. I have to name who have excellent customer service. Carmen Gito: I first met Carmen at another Marriott property. Her expertise in hotel management is remarkable. I basically follow her wherever hotel she works at because she makes the experience for my family just that great😀 Victoria, Alexandria, and Raechel - thank you so much. for all that you do. When you’re traveling with small children, it could be stressful enough. There has not been one time when you have not offered assistance. I visit Houston monthly for work and personal matters and will continue to stay at this property. Try to stop by in October to see the Sweet Spooky Halloween decorations.

Woke up in the middle of the night to fine two roaches on the floor right next to where my I year old son was sleeping. Manager did not care, and harassed me to either check out n pay a late check out fee by 230pm after I informed her that I do not get off work until 4 and would happily check out then, or stay in the infested room . I Told her I would check out after my 7mo pregnancy prenatal appointment that I could not miss and she did not care and proceeding to say I would be charged because I did not want to stay in an infested room with my young child. I reached out to the corporate manager and he did not even acknowledge the fact that the room had roaches nor did he once apologized for the stress that I had to endure due to this situation. But instead proceeded to focus on the fact the my husband was upset after seeing the roach a 2nd time for himself. The worst experience I have ever had at my over 300 stays at a Marriott property.

This review is specifically related to the check-in. I will write a second review of modify this once one I depart. This reservation has been on the books since Tuesday, April 23, 2024. On Monday, I checked in on the App & I filled in that I would arrive at 10:00 AM and yet when I arrive today they tell me the room will not be available until 5:00 PM. I have stayed at Marriotts all over the country and consistently this property has disappointed. I have never heard of a late checkout being granted past 2:00 PM. They have allowed this person to stay in the room until 4:00 PM knowing they had someone arriving at 10:00. I actually arrived at 12:00 PM based on prior experience and still I am disappointed. This will be my third time staying at this hotel and it is starting off horribly. The first room (June and July 2023) had bugs that I was killing for a week and had a strong Curry spice smell that required my using Charcoal throughout the room to reduce the smell (it never fully went away). The second room (March - April 2024) had issue with leveling and the drawers to the dresser in the bedroom never stayed closed, the bathtub faucet leaked and the vents had mold in them. The room was also by the dumpster and I was awakened every morning around five from the dumpster being emptied. This time I am going to document every piece of my journey from the cleanliness of the room upon first entry and any issues with the room.

Stay there in March 2024 with my children. We got a so-called suite and had to cut our stay there short because we found a roach one morning. The manager was called in and pictures were taken. We were told that it was because “there was some construction going on” that was probably how a cockroach got into our room. Needless to say, it was a very disappointing experience.

This is a dump, very old property, not maintained. Pls stay away, and it is a disgrace for Marriot to have such a bad property in the middle of Texas. Here are the issues: 1) Booked a two room suits with 4 of us in the family. 1 room supposed to have 2 beds and 1 with Master, but we were told all of their two bedrooms are with only 1 king bed only for each bedroom, so kids could not have their own bed. I asked, the gentleman in front desk advised me to use sofa bed in living area. Poor guy has no solutions for me. 2) Rooms are very small and congested, washrooms are extremely compact. Bed odor from washroom and bad water quality, serious water quality issues, pls don't use it for shower or wash your face. I went ahead and used bottled water instead. 3) OpenOffice the days, the fire alarm went off around 7am in the morning and everyone had to evacuated, firefighters came on board and told us as they were leaving that there is no fire, just a water leaks turned on the alarm. Hotel staff would not say what happened, no courtesy whatnso ever. 4) When I asked for an extra blanket for sofa bed, front desk told me they ran out of it. Sad to believe that such a big hotel would not have a extra blanket. I find the staffs are lazy and not going extra miles to help. 5) Laundromat area is very dirty and the so the gym area. Laundry machine requires change/quarters, no way to swipe a credit card to pay as I did on other similar Marriot properties. All in all, I didn't get what I paid for and no service, it is a disgrace to see such a marriot property still exists.

We had a long stay in Residence Inn by Marriott Houston Katy Mills and our stay started from 18th of August till 17th of October and really it was remarkable experince for all family memebrs and we do enjoyed all facilities from Gem, pool, basketball and even either looby or open air areas. also the food was very good. All staff were really helpful, freindy, cooperative and always smiling and serving you by any means. I would say that I highly recommending the place. it is near to evey thing specially shoping, privicy, quite, and important thing is it save for family staying. many thanks for all the staff with no exception and special thanks for Carmencita Gito.
