Check-in was very slow and took more than 2 hours. The hotel's kettle was broken and the invoice issued upon check-out was wrong. The environment and food were ok.

Sometimes when things don't go according to plan, it works out amazingly in the end.. we originally booked Diamonds Mapenzi (sister Hotel) of Sandies which were stayed at last year, but due to their renovations not completed in time, we were changed to Sandies. We had an amazing time. We celebrated my son's birthday and he was treated to a special dinner and birthday cake and room make up. We enjoyed the amazing food.. special thanks to Marwa and special surprise to see Chef Victor from Diamonds Mapenzi who treated us like royalty with our vegetarian dietary requirements. We really enjoyed the Aqua at the pool and other sport activities. The cocktail🍸 🍹 were great! The beach was beautiful, water warm and great!

Siamo stati in luna di miele in questo villaggio per 2 settimane e devo dire che ha superato tutte le mie aspettative. Pulito, organizzato e bello. La cucina è a buffet,molto buona e con tanta scelta ,per tutti i gusti. Anche il bar funziona molto bene. Noi eravamo nel cottage ed è molto carino, letto con zanzariera ( ma zanzare non ne ho viste),bagno bello ampio e armadio anche bello capiente. Zona ombrelloni molto ampia con spiaggia sottostante bellissima ,perché è praticamente una piccola insenatura tutta a nostra disposizione, molto intima ( nonostante i beach boys). Lo staff in generale sempre pronto a soddisfare le varie richieste, sorridenti ed educati. Menzione speciale per l'animazione, sia quella Francorosso che quella locale del villaggio, simpatici, mai insistenti che ci hanno allietato tanti momenti della nostra vacanza. Insomma per chi cerca un villaggio tranquillo e ottimamente struttura per godersi appieno lo splendido mare di zanzibar, questo è l'ideale.

Nous avons séjourné début juillet cet hôtel en chambre supérieure, nous avions deux chambres une pour nous et une pour nos deux adolescentes. Nous avons trouvé que le rapport qualité prix n'était pas bon. Les chambres n'ont rien d'exceptionnel et le prix beaucoup trop élevé à la nuit pour de la demi-pension.350€ pour 1 nuit pour 2 personnes et la demi pension au vu des prestations tant pour le repas que pour la chambre, nous avons été déçus...le lavabo était décollé du mur, Le sèche-cheveux ne fonctionnait pas et pendant deux soirs nous n'avons pas eu d'eau chaude. Les problèmes ont été résolu ensuite très rapidement.

We were very disappointed with our stay. The welcome was cold, and the staff was unfriendly. Every request felt like we were bothering them. The room was dirty, old, and poorly maintained — stained sheets, damaged furniture, and a bathroom in bad condition: a limescale-covered showerhead, broken light bulb, unpleasant smells from the drains, and a toilet door that wouldn’t close. The hotel offers entertainment, which could be a good point, but the soundproofing is so bad it feels like the show is happening inside your room. The pool is small, dirty, and not suited for the size of the hotel. Common areas are overcrowded — you need to wake up at dawn to find a sunbed. The food was poor and lacked variety, and water was served in already opened bottles, raising serious hygiene concerns. We were supposedly “upgraded,” but it didn’t show. When we asked to change rooms, the manager, not the general staff, was unpleasant and unhelpful. The new room wasn’t any better. We left the hotel 24 hours after arriving. The only positive was the beach — which is beautiful, but that’s thanks to nature, not the hotel. We strongly advise against this hotel. It does not deliver what it promises.

Arriving in Zanzibar on 03Jun: We were pleasantly surprized with the airport upgrade, since our last visit. Do have your Zanzibar insurance printed, as it is verified before proceeding to the visa on arrival desk. Namibians does not pay a fee. Since, we went in June, the cooler weather was definitely a nice surprize. There was still some rain and not entirely as much tanning time, but I preferred the cooler June weather, to the very tropical December weather. Showers were not too long. Water was cooler, but still 100% pleasant. Upon arrival at the hotel, check in went smooth, but reception area is not a pretty space, however reception by the staff was great. An upgrade here is due... Gardens are well maintained and lush. Our garden rooms were entry level, which was a bit of walking to the main areas, but the very spacious beautiful tripple room made up for it. Just a suggestion, that when it is a tripple, that there is 3 of everything, in this case coffee cups, but that was also not the worst thing. Normal amenities and fridge in room. There is one main restaurant, which offers a beautiful sea view. Such an awesome space. The food was really good and a good variety... Even with just one restaurant, it didn't feel like we had the same food over and over. There was one very special seafood dinner for everyone, that was hosted outside the main restaurant. I have to remark on the staff. They were really exceptional and attentive. We were on the all-inclusive meal plan, but learnt at the hotel that there was actually a premium drinks all-inclusive. The normal one allows wine and beer from 10am and then and cocktails only from 4pm. I loved the private beach. It was well guarded from the hawkers. Having visited 2 other hotels before, one could really feel the difference with the hawkers. I know that it is the livelihood of the locals, but it can really be overwhelming. I loved our holiday. The hotel was a great choice. I will be back... Vesna Namibia

Le Sandies Baobab est un endroit exceptionnel, tant pour son cadre enchanteur que pour la qualité de son service. Le personnel est tout simplement remarquable : accueillant, souriant, toujours disponible et d'une grande gentillesse. On se sent vraiment pris en charge et choyé du début à la fin. L’animation apporte une belle énergie, avec des activités bien pensées et une équipe dynamique. La cuisine est savoureuse et variée, et le cadre est à couper le souffle. Un immense merci à toute l’équipe pour ce séjour plein de bienveillance, de détente et de bons souvenirs !

We stayed at Sandies Baobab for ten days. Very comfortable, well cleaned rooms with good and large beds. Restaurant : very various and many choises and specially the friendly service by Odria, Christina, Eleen, Anna, Aneth, Sara, Dickson, Omar, Anzigar,, manager Marwa,...and so many others. At the bar, same story... very friendly and helpfull bartenders (Hello Benjamin!) and animators. We can recommend this hotel to young and old, couples and families,...
