The location is at Matenwe in Zanzibar. A bit difficult to get ro but an absolute treasure. It's a retreat place but more like a resort.
Directly opposite the beach, great pool, fine location and overall great staff. I'll like to visit again.

Excellent hotel! The location is great, next to the ocean, it has its own area with sun loungers, the area is guarded. Very convenient location - not far from Mnemba island, half an hour drive to Nungwi, half an hour walk to Matemwe, where there are many shops. The rooms are beautiful, clean bed linen, air conditioning, hot water in the bathroom 24 hours a day. The food in the restaurant is very tasty, the portions are good. The staff is friendly. I would like to thank the hotel managers Maurice and Munisi for their excellent work and thank you for a great holiday!

I was dissapointed and decided to book other place wastage of money The hotels around this areas should do so much better as hotels are far from other areas and you can’t get food somwhere else they should definately consider their guest

Meraviglioso: abbiamo soggiornato in questo resort fronte spiaggia per 5 GG e siamo stati benissimo: staff sempre sorridente ed attento...Maurizio in particolare ci ha dato un sacco di consigli utili...il top!!!camera grande, bellissima ,pulita, terrazza vista mare spettacolare !!! giardino ben curato e cibo ottimo. Come sentirsi a casa in un piccolo resort con tutti i comfort. Intimo e accogliente, personale sempre attento e disponibile, il tutto coordinato dal Manager Maurizio che con la sua passione e la sua filosofia di ospitalità rende tutto veramente speciale. Anche la cucina rispetta le tradizioni del luogo con prodotti locali che in mani sapienti anche la pietanza più semplice ti fa immergere nella ricca cultura culinaria Zanzibarina. Lovely place to stay. Food was ok. Room very spacious and beautifully decorated. Massage was absolutely beautiful. The staff were very attentive and friendly, the manager was a bit of an opportunist and will try get extra $$ when he gets a chance.

Clean, very friendly and helpful staff.
I think the description of Boutique hotel does not correspond to reality, a good 3 star hotel, well decorated, but which has had its day, at the moment well used.
The location was good for our purpose, scuba diving on the island of Mnemba.
The beach in front of the hotel is full of boats and (this may change) full of sea urchins. Not the most pleasant place to swim.
For breakfast you get a plate of fruits, juice, water, coffee or tea and you can choose a dish: English or Omelette or Porridge, etc. If you want anything else, you will have to pay US$10.00.
Few good options for lunch or dinner outside the hotel, 1 restaurant very close, and another one you have to walk about 20 minutes by the beach. We ate a few times at the hotel during our stay, the food was good. Drinks reasonably priced, not exaggerated like other hotels.

We had a great stay and a wonderful time at J.B.R.
The property is well kept, cozy and very pretty; our room was clean, spacious and comfortable.
The restaurant is excellent! The service is a little slow (no issue for us), the staff is friendly, the food is delicious and not expensive.
Cherry on the cake: 1. We loved the shampoo & body wash offered by the resort; 2. The live band on Wednesday was a great surprise and so much fun!
