A fabulous place everything was excellent: beautiful room, lovely pool the food at dinner was worthy of a Michelin star. The staff were lovely always smiling and making sure we were happy with our stay. It’s also great to know that every penny spent goes towards the students education. If we ever return to Sumba we will definitely stay here again.

Highly recommend anyone visiting Sumba to spend some time at Maringi. This is an excellent way to try local cuisine, understand the culture and people of sumba more and to support the foundation. Staff are so friendly, helpful and attentive. The food was excellent and accommodation beautiful.

The concept of this hotel is just incredible! Training young Sumbanese people in the catering and hotel industry. The services are impeccable and the smiles accompany you constantly. The calm is also just magical!! In short, for your stay in Sumba, not to be missed!

As we approached our bamboo pavilion, we were struck by its beauty and use of natural materials. Everything seemed to have been thought of to make our stay perfect. The students were amazing, providing top-level service and excellent English. They were super friendly and genuinely interested in making our stay as comfortable as possible. My massage was up there with the best. The meals were innovative and delicious. Even our boxed lunches were far better than others we have had. Knowing that we were supporting local students and the positive impact their futures would mean for their communities enhanced the experience even more.

From the arrival to till the end we had an amazing time. The sfudents are working hard and study and we are really “star” guest! The food was delicous and our pool appartement was wonderfull. I was here with my 3 kids ages 12,19,21! For all ages Many tours arranged by Maringi Sumba Hospitality. I recommend this place mostly to family holidays.

Despite arriving with a child suffering from a stomach bug and therefore being limited in what we could do, we had a truly wonderful stay at Maringi. We were welcomed by Gerdi, our lovely host, who made sure we settled in comfortably in our bamboo villa by the pool. The food is homemade and delicious, and there are great opportunities for excursions. It’s SO cozy having the students around. They are genuinely curious, smiling, attentive, and skilled, and hearing them enjoy themselves during their free time was a real pleasure. Definitely a must-stay when visiting Sumba.
