I Like the cleanliness of the hotel. Room is spacious. The front desk staff could communicate in English. Good if you drive there. Else, it’s a distance from the train station. St Paul church is just opposite of the hotel. There’s also a Japanese shin nearby. There are good bakery shops nearby for breakfast. We were there on 2 weekdays and there’s not many people and not many shops open. The restaurant next to it serves good pasta and pizza. We had our 2 dinners settled there. Karuizawa is a beautiful place. You may have a morning jog nearby and it’s so serene running around.
Experience a luxury retreat that delights all senses at Kyu Karuizawa Kikyo, Curio Collection by Hilton. Nestled amid lush grounds in the mountain village of Karuizawa, just an hour outside Tokyo, our hotel inspires with its peaceful ambience and genuine ‘omotenashi’ hospitality.

Many rooms also have a balcony – perfect for enjoying the sun’s warmth, a breeze or even some birdwatching. Choose a deluxe room for extra space and amenities.
Take in views of the beautiful courtyard while savoring breakfast, a casual lunch or French fusion cuisine at our restaurant, Sonorite. The lounge is a tranquil place for light snacks and specialty coffee, and we’re pleased to offer in-room dining each morning ‘til night.
Indulge at the spa and sauna and breathe in the enticing hinoki at our traditional Japanese public bath. The fitness center offers modern equipment and an inspired setting for productive workouts. Plan a meeting in your choice of three versatile banquet rooms or gather with loved ones in the chapel for an intimate wedding ceremony.

Great hotel! Went there on a snowy day, like a fairytale cottage. The house was cleaned very cleanly, and the breakfast was rich and delicious. An extra surprise was that all snacks and drinks in the hotel room were free, with a wide variety of even fresh macarons and small cakes. I was embarrassed to finish it, so I took away a can of apple juice. I am very grateful for the good memories provided by the hotel.

The food quality of the Spanish set dinner and breakfast was excellent and beyond our expectation. All the staff including front desk and restaurant were very friendly and hospitable. The location is convenient and walkable from bus station or to the shops, the rental of bicycles was included in the room rate. Many places are accessible by bicycles and kind of convenient to cycling around. The free flow drinks and snacks was a very kind gesture and face masks were very thoughtful room amenities for the dry weather. I would highly recommend this hotel and look forward to next visit soon.

The staffs there are super nice, they are willing to help and provide suggestions on the itinerary. Even though we are not staying for the 2nd night there, they allowed our baggages for temporary storage. Overall, the room is nice, the staffs are great, location is very convenient! Nice hotel. Karuizawa Outlet is in a walking distance. But had to take the bus to ski area. The west ski area did not open at the time we stayed. The front staff was not that freindly. No power plug adapter for borrowing. When comparing to the price, it not worth it. The good thing is the location, that’s it.
Hotel breakfast was awesome, the staffs were very nice, much nicer than front staff.

Felt cheated. Was told booking includes breakfast when checked-in, but during check-out then they mentioned only 2 adults were free and I have to pay for 2 children (above 6). Also, recommended to upgrade room for bigger size. However in the bigger room, the shower and toilet area is split to the front and back of the room. Suspect that end up the usable space is not much bigger.

Pros:
1. The room is very spacious, with a tatami bed for the third person. It was clean and well-equipped.
2. Convenient and free parking right outside the hotel entrance, although spaces are first-come, first-served.
3. Complimentary rental of umbrellas.
4. The private onsen was enjoyable, especially considering the public onsen at the adjacent building is unsheltered (hence the need for umbrellas).
5. Excellent location near Karuizawa Prince Shopping Plaza and Kyu-Karuizawa Main Street, providing easy access to numerous local shops and eateries.
Cons:
1. The breakfast was quite disappointing considering that this is a 4-star hotel and the other aspects are good. The bread was extremely hard and difficult to tear, and did not seem fresh. The overall variety of food was limited and not particularly appealing.

GGuest UserA British-style hotel with great characteristics and atmosphere, managed by Chris, an Englishman. The location is a little difficult to find. It is in an alley in a residential area with a small garden and lush vegetation. The surrounding walks are wild and interesting, and the scenery is naturally beautiful. The hotel is decorated in a British-like style, cozy, timeless, natural and warm. The room is very atmospheric, with large windows and a beautiful view. The separate sitting area is very comfortable. The hotel service is like home, attentive, warm and responsive. Although it is not a promise, as long as there is time, the hotel will take the initiative to offer pick-up and drop-off from the station and nearby attractions. Also recommends good restaurants nearby. The hotel's English breakfast is traditional and hearty. Lunch, dinner and afternoon tea are also highly recommended. We just mentioned it in passing, and Chris made British fish and chips specially for us, which was relatively traditional. The hotel's dinner that night was also excellent, with fresh ingredients, many of which were homemade. In terms of quality and taste. The meals are very good value. Excellent experience.
YYan Yan IsabellaThe hotel is located on a remote mountain, more than ten minutes from the center. The rooms are a bit far away, but fortunately they are clean and hygienic, and the space is very sufficient. The most special thing is that you can use the small cable car to go up to the hot spring area. What is surprising is that the hot spring area has a very good environment and scenery. Beautiful, the spring water is very comfortable
WW KMet with welcoming and good service staff, start of a great 2-night stay. The breakfast, Japanese and Western were appetising.
There are 2 routes to the hotel by car, both will have narrow and winding country roads at certain stretch to and from the hotel. Can be intimidating drive in the night especially when the days are short from November onwards.
TThomas54The location is a bit far. It takes 20 minutes to walk. The only drawback is that there is no elevator on the second floor. If you have large luggage, it is difficult. There are some restaurants nearby. It is a 10-minute walk to the outlet. If you don't want to walk too far from the JR station, you can also take a taxi for ¥900. Overall, it is good. Great choice. Good value for money. The room is big enough! recommend!
GGuest UserIt was my first time staying there, but it was very nice. Despite being close to the station, we were surrounded by trees and enjoyed the beautiful autumn leaves from the window in an environment typical of Karuizawa. The room was a Japanese-Western style room, but it was much nicer than the photo. Accommodation rates in Karuizawa have been high for a long time, and especially recently there are many hotels that are quite expensive, but this hotel was very reasonable and had very high quality dinner and service. I was especially impressed with the ingenuity of the dinner and the skill of the head chef. The tableware was carefully selected and I wanted to use it at home as well. The dining room was surrounded by large windows and the autumn leaves looked like a painting. Everything was of much higher quality than the photos on each site, and it was comparable to the hotel I had stayed at in Kyu Karuizawa. Considering the low price, this is a hotel I would recommend. I was once again reminded that a hotel is not just about its name.
GGuest UserI was worried of the quality due to how cheap the booking was. But I was genuinely surprised how neat the building, lobby, rooms and bathrooms were when we got there. The place was convenient and close to the Outlet and convenience stores (by car) I like how comfort inn is very modern too as they have menu/further info that you can access via QR code once you are in the room. Even if you also place do not disturb on your door, you will still receive fresh towels/linens outside your door. Overall it was a pleasant stay. For those wondering, the front desk is 24/7, so you can check out as early as 3am. The only sad thing is I couldn’t bring my pet. I hope they can lift that policy in the future. I would definitely recommend this place to others.
LLimestreetThis is my third time staying at this hotel. I upgraded my room. It takes about 15 minutes to walk to Yunchang Pond. The breakfast food is very high quality and worth buying. The hotel is as good as ever.
GGuest UserThe location is good, about 13 minutes walk from the station. There are supermarkets, coffee shops, and bookstores nearby. The hotel can rent bicycles. It is very convenient for people who don't drive to come to Karuizawa to ride and walk on the weekend. It feels good to live in this location at this price.
Before it was converted into a hotel, this building should have been a rest house for its employees by a certain company. The equipment is relatively old, but clean and sanitary. There is a toilet in the room but only a washbasin and no bathroom. You have to go to the large public bath on the first floor to take a bath. Although the large public bath on the first floor is not a hot spring, it is quite comfortable to soak in it. There is also a sauna room inside.
I didn't book breakfast at the hotel. I rented a bicycle from the front desk in the morning. I rode a bicycle to Kumoba Pond to listen to the birds singing, and then went to SAWAMURA in the old Karuizawa for breakfast. It was very good.
堇堇茉Although it is far from the station, it is very convenient to have someone to pick it up by car. In the morning, you will be booked with you to determine the time to go.
The only inconvenience is that there is no supper in my order. There are no convenience stores around.
Other play facilities and hot spring bath facilities are ok
The prices are also very clean. I also arranged a large room for me alone
I ate breakfast at the hotel in the morning and loved waking up in the forest early in the morning.
Reservations must be made in advance (Japanese and English)
Waiting for pick-up at the general parking lot at Nakaruizawa Station, there will be signs on the car
