Popular Karuizawa 4-star Hotels

We stayed in a room accommodating 3 people. The sofa bed is big in principle big enough for my daughter but she found it easily falling down probably because the base is a sofa which is apparently smaller than the mattress! The hotel room is generally clean. We had a shabushabu and teriyaki dinner at the hotel which was relatively expensive but the quality is excellent and we found it worth a try! More importantly, the hotel is conveniently located near the outlet where we had a happy shopping spree😊

Definitely the best hotel in Karuizawa! Exceptional service and beautiful accommodations that have made our experience truly memorable! This hotel is a bit remote to those not driving . But the rate is very reasonable and by taxi is short distance to everywhere near train and outlet for shopping n food . The hotel restaurant for dinner is very good with live music and cost is very reasonable with good service . But you need to do reservation in advance . There is a big supermarket a few steps away that you could buy fresh produce to cook simple meal in your room’s kitchen . The public pool is sufficient and cleanliness is fair . Overall a value for money hotel .

We had an amazing 2 nights stay here! Located about 5 minutes short walk from the train station, there were a convenience store and small supermarket directly across the hotel. We weren't expecting much when we booked as the photos look dated and it was a last minute trip but oh mine, we were pleasantly surprised when we checked in. The room was large and although it was the old room, it had a certain charmimg character to it that we love. The bathroom was also big, clean and had a lovely large bathtub. I love the full range of toiletries they provided and was hoping to buy it in Tokyo to bring home but I couldn't. There was a common area on the second floor where water, juice and coffee were provided and we bought our own sake in the evening and sat there. We spent two peaceful evenings here after dinner and it was lovely. Our only complaint was the bed was rather soft and the pillows were flat. But we will definitely stay here again when we come back to Karuizawa.

The food quality of the Spanish set dinner and breakfast was excellent and beyond our expectation. All the staff including front desk and restaurant were very friendly and hospitable. The location is convenient and walkable from bus station or to the shops, the rental of bicycles was included in the room rate. Many places are accessible by bicycles and kind of convenient to cycling around. The free flow drinks and snacks was a very kind gesture and face masks were very thoughtful room amenities for the dry weather. I would highly recommend this hotel and look forward to next visit soon.

When I fell asleep at night, I noticed the noise of the snowmaking machine at the ski resort. I have a very sensitive hearing, so I immediately contacted Ctrip's one-to-one customer service and the hotel front desk, and got a response very quickly. The Japanese night shift staff at the front desk communicated well and considered that it was very late, so they let us stay in the hotel building for one night and adjust the room the next day. The next day, Zhang, a Chinese at the front desk, drove the hotel car to the cabin very coolly to help us move our luggage into the hotel building. It was very friendly to hear Mandarin. Kei Otowa Hotel is very close to the Karuizawa Shinkansen Station and has convenient transportation. The hotel has a scheduled bus to pick up guests to the station, which is a 3-minute journey and very punctual. This is the second hotel I chose to stay in on this trip. I have a good impression. The hotel is a French white building with a very European style. It is divided into the old and new building areas. The old building is being renovated. This time I stayed in the new building. The wooden staircase, the room is not too big or small, clean, and all toiletries are available. You can see the autumn scenery outside the window. There are 2 sets of breakfast to choose from, 4 different varieties of French bread and cakes, with Kei Otowa Forest's special orange and strawberry jam (available in the hotel's small shopping mall), which really surprised us foodies. It was so soft and freshly baked that it was too delicious. I remember it deeply. Breakfast was in a large restaurant. After careful observation, except for us, most of the people staying were RB people who came to Karuizawa for vacation. There is a small garden outside the hotel. The clear blue sky, fresh air, red and yellow leaves and fallen leaves are so beautiful that I can't express them in words. The hotel service is also good. If you ask about the restaurant, they will lead you in person. Turn left from the gate to the station, and turn right to go to Karuizawa Old Street, where there are various shopping stores and food stores. There is also a small road behind that is a rich area.
