As Beatles fan, one of our main reasons visiting Karuizawa was to have apple pie and English tea at this hotel’s coffee shop, like what John Lennon did some years ago. But we were much disappointed to find out that Mampei Hotel was under renovation when we were at Karuizawa. We should have checked before we came. What could we do? We could only be singing one of Beatles favorite songs- “Let it be”!

母と二人で泊り朝食はオムレツとハム、私はソーセージをチョイス。比べてみたらハムが断然お勧めです。ロイヤルミルクティーは値段相応かわかりませんが、美味しかったです。紅茶に生クリームも一度はよいかな？と思います。

予てから宿泊したいと思っていた万平ホテルに、クラシックホテル好きの母と利用しました。 今まで蒲プリ、奈良ホテル、富士屋ホテル、東京ステーションホテルを訪れましたが さすが万平ホテル、素晴らしいホテルでした。 チェックイン時からスタッフの方がとても感じよく、重い荷物にも関わらずアルプス館2階のお部屋まで笑顔で運んでもらいました。 荷物を運んでくださった方は恐らく中国人スタッフの方ですが、日本語もお上手で愛想もよく、楽しくお話してくださいました。 ホテルの説明についても抜かりなく、丁寧に教えてくれました。 確かにアルプス館のお部屋は昭和初期からあるということで多少の臭いも気になりますが、それは掃除云々ということではないと思います。 他の方の口コミでそういったご意見もありますが、最初から他のウスイ館等を利用すればよかったのではと思います。 朝食の準備も素晴らしく、美味しく頂きました。 とにかくホスピタリティに溢れた素敵なホテルです。 本当にいい思い出となりました。 来年から改修工事ということですが、是非またお邪魔したい素敵なホテルです。 ありがとうございました。

あこがれだったこちらのホテルにようやく泊まることができました。 クラシカルな雰囲気も素敵でしたし、スタッフの皆様もさり気なく気配りをして下さって、ゆったりとした非日常の時間を過ごせました。 間もなくリニューアルするそうですので、その前に泊まれて良かったと思っています。

すごく歴史のある建物で、宿泊の方も年配の方が多いようでした。有名なアップルパイとロイヤルミルクティーを頂きました。庭にせり出した席で、緑が美しく、来た甲斐がありました。今月末で、建て替えに入るとのことで、今度来る時は新しくなっているのでしょう。楽しみにしています。

前から泊まりたかったホテルです。館内は古いものばかりですが、どれも大事に長いこと使用されているようなものばかりでした。お部屋は別館でしたがとても広く、別荘にきたような気分を味わうことができました。のんびりできたので、また絶対に行きたいと思います。次は喫茶室でロイヤルミルクティーとアップルパイを食したいです。

アルプス館に2泊しました。スタッフのサービスは心地よく、建物はとても雰囲気が良く、窓を開けると軽井沢の緑、風が入ってきます。人気の理由がわかります。

やはり良いです。朝御飯付きで別館に宿泊。夕食はダイニングでコースをいただく。やはりGoodです。部屋もツインとソファーベット2つで夫婦二人では十分満足。お風呂もバスタブに洗い場がついていてゆったり。朝御飯は京懐石のたんくまで。

初めて万平ホテルに5連泊した。利用した客室はウスイ館１階北側のクラシックタイプ。陽射しの入らない（日中はカーテン不要）明るい部屋で中庭の木立の向こうに別館が見える。 いつも旅行の際には、フェースタオルを1枚雑巾代わりに持参して、スーツケースを開く前に客室内を拭き掃除する。ところが、タオルが黒く汚れない。窓はピカピカで、入口ドアの取手、ハンガーを掛ける太いパイプ、収納家具の取手や引き出し、椅子とテーブル、バスルーム天井の換気口、テレビの後方などに埃や手垢は無く掃除が大変行き届いている。また、シャワールームの排水口に髪の毛やヌメリ感は無い。 夫婦共々すっかり部屋が気に入り、ワイフはオットマンと椅子を独占して読書を楽しんだ。 洗濯機と乾燥機各2台はアタゴ館2階廊下横のコインランドリーで使える。（洗剤を持参しよう） ■ウスイ館クラシックタイプ客室 フロントのあるアルプス館からアタゴ館2階の廊下を通り抜けた先に、ウスイ館1階の廊下が続く。 3階建て宿泊専用棟で、東西の廊下を挟んで北側と南側に客室が並ぶ。 ・睡眠中、体にエアコンの風が当たらないのが良い。冬季は床暖房かラジエーターが利用できるのが嬉しい。 ・衣類等の収納スペースが多く、連泊客も快適に過ごせる。（忘れものに注意） ・豊富な湯量によりバスタブが数分で満たされるので、使い勝手が大変良い。 ・シャワーブースの水漏れが無い。（ほとんどのホテルのシャワーブースは扉から水が漏れる） ・Wifiのスピードは速く不自由は無い。 ・ミネラルウオーター（コンプリメンタリー）は無い。 ・鍵は1部屋に1本。 ・信濃毎日新聞の朝刊が部屋に届く。 ・体重計がある。 ■4250円の朝食 〇和食：50年以上京都に住む者としては、情けない「京料理・熊魚菴 たん熊北店」が提供する食事で、これを京料理とは恥ずかしくて言えない。 〇洋食（メインダイニング）：ごく普通のメニュー。 7時半オープンと同時に、テラス席の窓側テーブルから案内される。 中庭の灯篭や鳥居越しに別館の建物が見える。 テーブル上の花に癒される。 ■軽井沢銀座 ホテルを出て、最初の曲がり角を右手に進むと、右側に軽井沢会テニスコートが見える。テニスコート沿いに右折し、直ぐ左折してテニスコート通りを直進すると旧軽井沢銀座通り（角には軽井沢観光会館）に出る。左に進むと大きい軽井沢本通りに合流し、ロータリーが見える。（ホテルから2,000歩）この周辺に食堂が集まる。 お勧めは、川上庵（蕎麦）、レストラン・酢重（すじゅう）正之（和食）、つるとんたん（うどん）、ベーカリーレストラン沢村。 フロントで地図を貰って出かけよう。 ■軽井沢 標高1,000メートル（志賀高原蓮池は1,500メートル）、夏の涼しさが売りの軽井沢、逆に冬は寒く3月まで雪が降る。また霧が多い街で、3日に1日は霧が出るので緑の苔庭や、朝霧による幻想的な風景が楽しめる。
