I would start with the context. A small island that can be explored in about 15 minutes, in the middle of a crystalline lagoon full of reef fish and coral spots, around which you can snorkel safely with shoes and a mask. Fine white sand, coconut palms and mangroves lap the beaches, numerous and full of sunbeds. There is no fighting to find a place in the sun! Upon arrival, the manager Sandro, from Rome, welcomes us with a general overview of the services, times, what to do and what to expect. Roberta Cecchetto, manager of Diving and Excursions, also introduces herself and invites us to go to the diving center the next day. The rooms, ours had a lagoon view, are spacious and, although basic, are very welcoming and modern with a fridge, safe, mosquito net and a beautiful bathroom. Remember that there is no wifi at the resort but you have to ask for a modem (for a small fee) at the reception, subject to availability. You may have to wait a few departures to have your connection! Personally, it was essential for me due to a family problem in Italy. The staff is all very young and polite, helpful and available. A very positive note to the cuisine that ranges from Indonesian dishes to international dishes and à la carte, for lunch, there are also excellent Italian proposals. Half board includes a plentiful breakfast that offers both sweet (donuts, fruit, croissants, muesli, yogurt, pancakes....) and savory (bread, eggs in all shapes...). Dinner includes a choice between 3 courses out of 4 in which each includes different choices: the main course for example offers 5 different dishes and you choose one. If you take 4 courses, the extra one will be paid for. I can assure you that 3 courses are already very very plentiful and that not only you do not suffer from hunger, but you eat really well! The Indonesian dishes are fabulous! Drinks are extra. As for Roberta Cecchetti / Diving and Excursions, this wonder woman combines practicality and competence with a lot of enthusiasm. The excursions offered are obviously linked to the sea and they are wonderful. The reef is pristine everywhere and there are, just below the surface, immense coral gardens of all types, where thousands of colorful fish swim. With a mask and snorkel you can already see everything! Warm water and therefore snorkeling at ease, even for 45 minutes / 60. The accompanying guys are very attentive and reliable. I did 3 dives, together with my husband, 2 with Roberta and one with a local dive master. I thank Roberta who gave me the refresher (I hadn't dived for many years) and who accompanied me by the hand, every time I didn't feel safe. Surely the island, a destination for non-mass tourism, allows you to receive a lot of attention, in an uncontaminated naturalistic environment. The Spa didn't drive me crazy, the girl I had for the massage, comparing the type of massage to a similar one done in another structure during the trip, didn't

Arriving on the 5pm boat like us, you might not initially fully perceive the beauty of this wonderful island, as the sun is already low and the light filtering through the water is dimmed. But as soon as the sun rises the next morning, the scenery changes completely, the crystalline blue of the sea presents all its shades, the frame of a crystal clear sky and a vegetation of green palms complete the ideal scenario in which to start a wonderful holiday. I stayed two weeks between the end of July and August with my family and two children aged 12 and 7. Important premise, Kura Kura is an eco-resort in Central Java and not a luxury resort in the Maldives or Polynesia. Although the level of the structure differs, the island, the nature, the coral reef and certain services are comparable to those of the most renowned destinations. In addition to the beautiful landscape of this small atoll, there are three aspects that we liked most of all and that in our opinion differentiate this atoll from many other islands visited in 18 years of travel in Asia and Oceania: 1) the constant ventilation that allows you to enjoy the sun and sea without sweating; 2) the privacy you can enjoy, you often find yourself alone or with a few other customers on the beach on the east coast or when snorkeling; 3) the "Italian" food truly comparable to Italy and some resorts in the Maldives but much superior and not even comparable to any other resort in Asia Pacific and Oceania, which is a great plus when you stay two weeks especially with children. Resort: we stayed in the pool Villa that can comfortably accommodate two extra beds. The room is spacious, with a wardrobe and a desk. The bathroom in the back is very spacious. In the outdoor garden there is a loggia with a sofa, fridge, speakers, sunbeds and a swimming pool that in the end we did not use much because in fact the natural pool of the sea is on another level! Excellent daily cleaning of the room. For the location and sun, Pool Villas No. 24, 25, 26 and 27 are recommended. Climate: the ventilation on the island is truly exceptional, especially on the east coast you can enjoy the sun all day without the sand being blown up by the wind. The west coast is a little more protected, you have to go into the water or from the snorkeling pier to get the same wind as the east coast. The restaurant area is also well ventilated both in the evening with dinner outside as well as at lunch, exceptional for us to eat under the palm trees by the sea! In two weeks we always had sun, a couple of cloudy mornings that then turned into splendid sunny afternoons, it only rained at night. Restaurant: the food is undoubtedly one of the strong points of Kura Kura. Having traveled a lot in Asia and Oceania, we have not found anything comparable, it really feels like being in Italy. They dedicate themselves to things made by them, such as bread, fresh pasta and desserts. The menu at

English: We stayed at the Kura Kura on our way back from our trip to Japan and it was an unforgettable stay. In addition to the island where we stayed, which was absolutely fantastic, we appreciated the cleanliness and daily care that is dedicated to the maintenance of this heavenly place. Our room (if we can call it that) was also a private villa with a swimming pool, we have never found anything more fantastic!! However, the thing that struck us most was the friendliness and preparation of all the staff who speak fluent English and are equipped with a professionalism that we have rarely encountered in all our travels. In particular, we had the opportunity to speak several times with two members of the front office staff, Budy and Perez, who always proved available to support us and were also a pleasant acquaintance. During this stay we felt pampered and relaxed like we had never felt before. Even the manager Sandro was always available and available for the duration of the stay. We also cannot help but mention the cuisine served at this resort. Who would have ever imagined being able to enjoy good Italian cuisine in a place so far from our country? The chefs have in fact studied our type of cuisine and serve excellent dishes. The bread and pasta are also “homemade” daily. Kura Kura was a very pleasant discovery that we will definitely recommend to anyone who wants to travel to Indonesia. Chiara and Luca
