The hotel is conveniently located about 10mins walking distance to Sinyi Elementary School Station. The hotel lobby is kinda grand but as its a hotel with long history, lacks abit lustre. my room is on the 15th floor. spacious room with shower and bathtub, big window with good view.. room doesnt come with an international wall socket (only tw 2 flat pin) so remember to bring along the travel adapter, otherwise will have to ask the hotel for one. hotel breakfast is decent.. many beverages to choose from.. overall is ok but the room's aircon is super cold and no matter how i adjust the temp and fan mode it doesn't help.. i had to sleep with the aircon off and hid under the duvet whole night..

The transportation is convenient nearby, there are many places to eat, and the hygiene is very good. It's very close to the Wu Temple. The room is just the right size and clean. As long as you make a reservation in advance, you have the opportunity to order at a cheap price

In Taiwan to visit with family and friends. We found our stay at Sun Hotel a great experience. On arrival we were greeted by very friendly staff. Our room was lovely and a good size, had a very large comfortable bed, very well appointed bathroom with good shower, very clean and well kept. The room was extremely quiet, making it easy to sleep. The breakfast room was well set up, tasteful decor. Great variety of food offered, friendly staff. Convenient to cafes and some retail, short uber to rail. We will stay again when we visit Taiwan

Group check-out is very breakfast is ordinary, hydropower is ordinary, air conditioning is not a regulator, either on or off, the requirements are not high, ok breakfast is closed at 9:30, too early, there is a 24-hour patriotic supermarket opposite the hotel, very convenient

The hotel staff were very kind and friendly. The location of the hotel was all right. The breakfast provided by the hotel was okay. Though, having the steps to enter and exit the hotel breakfast area on the first floor was rather inconvenient and not safe. My elderly mother almost fell down. They should consider certain ways on how to make it safer such as adding a ramp. Also, my elderly step-father actually did fall down in the guest room because the hotel had a step to go up to and down from the bed area. He almost hit his head against the wall. It would be a good idea for the hotel management to consider how to rectify these types of situation.

It's an old-style hotel. The overall maintenance is good. The room is quite clean except for the old TV. The 4-person room is very spacious and has a door in the middle. The bathroom is also quite clean. For breakfast, you need to choose a drink at the counter first. In the morning It will be delivered to the room. The fried noodles I had this time were so delicious!

The shower was rusty and I used a shower filter that I took just in case. There are mosquitoes in the room and bathroom, so you need mosquito repellent. There are not many breakfasts and the taste is not that good. Overall, it seems to be a cost-effective accommodation for just sleeping.

The hotel could probably be considered modern 40 years ago... and the room was somewhat kaput (chain lock was broken) and not well-cleaned (lots of hair on the floor, bad smell from toilet bowl, moldy refrigerator...). But the double room I had was spacious and well furnished (wardrobe, tea table and chairs, desk, etc). So it could be considered an inexpensive Saturday alternative (most hotels in Taiwan double or even triple their rates on Saturday), or a little trip down Taiwan memory lane.

Location is great! less than a 5 minute walk from Kaohsiung station and it is very easy to navigate to. Rooms were fantastic - there's a mini balcony, strong air-conditioning, comfy beds, tv, hot water, and a well-equipped room (kettle, tea, mugs etc.) The only downside is that the hotel does not provide necessities like toothbrushes. Staff that we met were very helpful and friendly. Would definitely book this hotel again!

This hotel was excellent for a solo traveller. I can foresee some inconvenience if it was a couple or 2 friends staying here as there the bathroom is pretty much an open concept. i.e. would need to get changed inside the shower booth before coming out etc, and no proper door except a semi-opaque glass door. Having said, I was by myself for my stay so it was perfect room for me. Bed is comfy, place was clean. They have this machine check-in system which works fine, but I was a bit taken aback initially as I had to scan qr code, get internet and do things myself while just having reached the place with luggage etc. Not a biggie but would have been nice if the staff could check me in or offered a bit more help since there wasn't any other guests there either. I didn't use any other facilities but during the day the lobby operates as a cafe, and there is a laundry room in B1. Location is convenient and near Kaohsiung train station, the station is currently going through a big construction so if I had known, I probably would have chosen to stay somewhere near Formosa Boulevard instead given it has 2 MRT lines. But hotel-wise, it is near the station and have convenience stores/fast food options in walking distance.
