Attitude of Staff:
The attitude of the overnight staff at Hotel R14 is disappointingly indifferent. Despite the hotel offering a 24-hour front desk service, overnight staff exhibit a lack of engagement with guests, always seen wearing earphones and displaying disinterest while enjoying their McDonald's at the front desk. This stark contrast to the courteous and helpful morning shift staff is notable and contributes to a subpar guest experience.
Incident Management:
Encountering a cockroach under the bed at a late hour was distressing. The in-room phone's inability to call out added to the challenge, necessitating a visit to the unhelpful 24-hour front desk for assistance. We ended up getting transfer to a smaller room and front desk staff claimed the janitors will be cleaning the room at 8am once they are on duty. Meanwhile, we keep getting calls from front desk thereafter even though it was at the middle of the night. Additionally, our friends living next door does not see the room getting cleaned until 12pm. Then, front desk called at around 10am again, claiming that they was not able to find the cockroach and strongly emphasized that we have to decide asap as they literally said "we have to resell the room. it is pretty full booking". No apologies offered whatsoever and the staff did not even help transferring the luggage, only asked us to go downstairs returning the keycard once we are done.
Cleanliness:
The cleanliness standards at Hotel R14 do not meet expectations. Discovering leftover hair in the in-room phone, along with unclean areas under the bed and near the window, indicates inadequate housekeeping practices that fall short of maintaining a hygienic environment for guests.
