For the first time in my life, I booked half board in advance, but to conclude, the dinner was disappointing compared to my expectations, and the breakfast was great.
Since dinner was buffet style, it was far from a meal at a luxury hotel, and no drinks were provided other than water. It was also impossible to purchase coffee or alcohol.
Breakfast was very good. There was a lot of food, and each one was delicious.

Pests, Poor Service, and a Catastrophic Stay
We arrived late at night with our three young children, tired after a long journey. We had booked a villa and were looking forward to a peaceful and pleasant stay, but unfortunately, we were deeply disappointed.
As soon as we entered the villa, we were greeted by an unpleasant sight: long-legged silverfish crawling on the ceiling, a dead beetle in the shower, and spiders hanging from the ceiling. My husband had to go to the reception, and we were promised two rooms in the main building instead.
When we finally reached those rooms, they were no better. We found a live silverfish on the floor in one of the rooms, and outside our other room, there was a large dead brown beetle. We felt very uncomfortable staying there due to the pests and insects, and now we were left without accommodation in Sarajevo in the middle of the night, with three tired and disappointed children.
We contacted the hotel's manager, Nermin Horman, who informed us that they would not reimburse us for the nights, even though we had paid over 500 euros for accommodation that we never used.
After a long night of searching for another hotel, we eventually found a room at Ibis Styles. When we checked in, we realized that it was actually a sister hotel to Tarcin. The room was okay, but the breakfast was another disappointment. Dirty plates, an unappetizing buffet, and ants in the restaurant quickly made us realize that we didn’t want to stay here either.

There was a wedging at the hotel and therefore no access to the restaurant and we had to order room service which is a shame. The breakfast was not nice (not fresh cakes and only a few options)

I had villa room. Very clean and cosy compared to villas in other countries.
Bathroom: i have noticed in eastern europe and central asia they seem to all have the foul drainage smell in all bathrooms. It must be the way drainage is designed. For a 5 star the toiletries wasn't on par. No fans, leave window open 24/7. Toilets have bidets in rooms but not in public areas, no issues with running water.
Breakfast: expected alot more for 5 star. It was average.
Dinner: excellent food. All dishes were tasty. Mohitoes not expensive.
Mensur is the best. Very friendly and welcoming same with all staff.
Staff: everyone polite and friendly, however there is always the odd one that dont like their job or not bothered to go that extra mile. For example reluctant to help get rental car or told us when all horse riding places where closed. They have lazy horse ranch 10minutes away which is open every day all year around.
I would stay again. Very peacfull and quite. However it is far from city center, mostar and waterfall.
Theg have baby horse kids can feed and pet as well as a few goats.
Visitied early april 2025. Weather was freezing. Sometimes snow. Started to get warm just before i left.
Games area downstairs, not much to do. Pinball machine half worked. They have softplay for kids on ground floor very helpful.

Gutes Hotel, aber bei weitem kein Luxushotel!
Das Tarcin Forest Resort ist ein gutes Hotel an einer atemberaubenden Lage. Das Personal ist sehr nett und hilfsbereit. Sie tun alles, um die Gäste zufrieden zu stellen.
Vom Innenpool aus hat man ebenfalls eine tolle Aussicht und kann sich auf der Aussenterasse sonnen.
Die Zimmer sind sehr grosszügig ausgelegt und sehr sauber.
Das Frühstück ist ausgezeichnet.
Positiv zu erwähnen ist auch die tollen und kostenlosen Ladestationen für Elektroautos, welche wir gerne beansprucht hatten.
Leider sind wir dennoch nicht ganz zufrieden. Das Hotel wird als Luxushotel angepriesen, vor Ort sogar als 5 Sterne Hotel. Dies ist es nach internationalen Standards bei weitem nicht.
Das Hotel wurde 2018 gebaut. Es scheint uns, als ob das Hotel durch Corona stark gelitten hat. Einige Bauten (Villen) und Anlagen wurden bis heute nicht fertiggestellt. Zudem leidet nun der Unterhalt. Abgenutzte Möbel auf den Zimmern und rostige Container in den WC's beim Pool sind nur einige Beispiele.
Die Möblierung im Restaurant erinnern uns eher an eine Kantine.
Leider scheinen die Bosnier es mit dem Abfall nicht sehr genau zu nehmen. Auf der Zufahrt zum Hotel liegt überall Abfall herum, was nicht sehr angenehm ist.
Das Hotel wird mehrheitlich von Muslimen und arabischen Gästen gebucht. Das ist grundsätzlich kein Problem, aber es gibt dadurch im ganzen Hotel keinen Alkohol. Dies müsste bei der Buchung erwähnt werden!
Fazit: Das Hotel ist nicht das Problem. Das Problem ist, wie es vermarktet wird.
