Extended Stay America Select Suites - Kansas City - Stadium

Great location to the stadiums! But don’t try to walk there - no sidewalks for the most part and part of the walk is through some questionable housing areas. Upon arrival no one is at “reception” desk - in fact the wooden opening closure thing was down and no one to greet you (until 3:00 check in time). The “lobby” is a small hallway that will only fit around 6 people while you check in. Hallways and rooms smelled like cigarette smoke/weed. For some reason - many people with pit bulls around area and in motel. Lots of dogs. Had a room with four people in it - 2 beds- but only had two wash cloth and two bath towels. No hand towel. No extra towels. And of course when we arrive back to our room at 11:30 pm after being at an outdoor event for the past 8 hours - only two of us could take showers. But we didn’t - the shower handles were broken. They spun around and around with no water coming out of it. No access to ice machine - only vending machine. And no employees when we got there at 11 - again, reception desk had their wooden closure thing blocking the opening/closed.

0/10 ABSOLUTELY DO NOT RECOMMEND! We showed up for the Morgan Wallen concert WITH a reservation only to be told they had NO CLEAN ROOMS and staff did not show up so they’re putting a sign up that reservations are cancelled! The worker said this thing happens ALL OF THE TIME and they’ve worked there for a number of years. They could not get ahold of their manager so they couldn’t do anything! The people who were there (including us) were allowed to get ready in a dirty room in hopes they would have it cleaned before we got back! It was about an hour wait before we got to said dirty room so we were late for the concert! We did return to a ‘clean’ room; however, found hair amongst the ‘clean’ sheets! No one could be reached at the front desk! We went to leave around 8:20 am the next day and there was no one at the front desk (the window was closed) and when we dialed ‘0’ from the phone, no one would answer. This location needs CLOSED!

THEY CANCELED OUR RESERVATION because they overbooked the hotel by 12 rooms. What could be even better than this, you ask? We found out AFTER our Uber dropped us off. They offered no resolution other than reserving a room for us at another property 16 miles away. Mind you, we flew in and did not have a vehicle as we were planning to walk to the stadium. I called corporate guest services who had no resolution other than calling the hotel front desk to verify our claim. Corporate didn't get an explanation for this behavior either. In hindsight it was a blessing in disguise. The lobby was sketchy. The lady who claimed to be homeless and begging to get into a room to get her belongings really added to ambiance.

We booked this hotel for a Royals/Braves game. We chose it for convenience of location/price. After reading the reviews I was skeptical. That’s an understatement, I was terrified. The location is not really walkable to/from stadium. It is located off the highway at the end of residential street. The road is terrible, full of potholes, be careful. The lady at the front desk checking us in (around 9:30pm) was very nice and helpful. You do need a key to get past front desk. It closed at 10 but there is a phone and a # to call if you check-in or need something later. The room itself is very basic. No complimentary shampoo/conditioner/soap nor is there a blow dryer. There are 2 small pillows to sleep with. Would advice maybe bringing additional. Felt very much like a dorm room. I had my eyes PEELED for roaches and didn’t see 1 nor any other bugs or evidence of them. There were quite a few longer term guests and their dogs, all of which I wanted to pet. Not too much “riff raff” or sketchiness that we noticed other than someone’s car being smashed with rocks. we assumed that was personal and not random. Overall it was better than expected and served it’s purpose.

The Manager of this establishment was very unprofessional and rude. The room I was checked into had roaches and was not even clean. Unauthorized charges to my credit card. Over all DO NOT RECOMMEND!!!

Terrible place to Stay. Noise all the time with little time to sleep with neighbors yelling and load Music and thin Walls where you can them talk late and no Security on duty. You have to go past the trouble by the main floor to call Security. Maids are loud at cleaning and bumping the walls if want to sleep in. Maybe other locations are better, but not the one at the stadium. Very small kitchen. Why are there taxes so High? They don't drive with City Motel Tax

Was not like a regular hotel where you get room service everyday. The bed was uncomfortable and the pillows were too hard. There was a man and woman in the room next to us that were extremely loud early in the morning. The man was really vulgar toward the woman. Every word was a cuss word at her. Will not stay here ever again. This hotel ******. Worst hotel I have ever stayed at. 0 stars

This was by far the worst hotel we have stayed in. The pictures on the website look nothing like the rooms at this location. The room looks like a dorm room, where the elevators are located has a horrible smell. We paid $150 for our stay and we were considering leaving early. Very upsetting by not having the rooms look like the pictures. Wrong of this location to advertise something that it’s not! Hotel is overall sketchy!

This hotel is very misrepresented in the description. Although the room was mostly clean, there was a musty/moldy smell that penetrated it and the hallways smelled of cigarette and ********* smoke. It had no amenities whatsoever, not even wifi or working cable/television. There was no water pressure at all so taking a shower was nearly impossible. The parking was free. It is close to restaurants but other than that, there is nothing else I can say positive about it. I do not recommend people staying here.
