鹿屋にある人気の温泉施設がメインのホテル。メイン道路からの進入路が分かりにくい。「太平温泉」の看板を目印に、メイン道路の方から建物は見えるが、駐車場や玄関は見えない。地元の車についていく感じで到着。温泉を利用する車が多く停まっている。温泉とホテルの玄関は別になっている。ホテル玄関の左にフロント。右がラウンジ。奥に喫煙室。右手の2階が客室になっている。荷物を持っての階段がきつい。ツインの部屋は十分な広さ。食堂は1階にある。夕食はお母さんの手作り感があり、長期利用の人も見受けられる。朝食は500円で、地元の人も多く利用していた。温泉棟は屋根付き外通路で行ける。受付で、ホテルの鍵と交換で入ることができる。浴衣でもホテル宿泊者と分かれば入浴できる。炭酸水素塩泉の大浴場は良い。運動浴場は利用している人は少ない。サウナは遠赤とスチームの２つある。地元の常連さんが多く訪れている。
