My stay at Shantitheeram Ayurveda was exceptional. The serene lakeside setting provided a tranquil escape. Ayurvedic treatment was rejuvenating, and the local cuisine was both healthy and delicious. The ambience of resort's heritage rooms and the attentive staff made my experience truly unforgettable. Highly recommend for a wellness cum leisure getaway.

Ezhara Beach House, near Kannur is like nowhere else we've stayed. As per many of the reviews, Hyacinth is the hostess to be beaten, she genuinely cares and wants you to have a lovely time. She can arrange pretty much anything, tuktuk, spices, dress shopping and repairs, taxi, massages, bus tickets, train info....etc. The building is an old heritage place with no real mod cons, and a 1970s hippy vibe. No aircon, but plenty of fans. We were warm but to be honest, we have aircon at home in the UK. Most other guests didn't even put their fans on! The electrics in our floor were limited to one or two sockets in each room, and ran the fans. But we managed to charge our phones ok at the same time. Plenty of hot water for the shower. Our room had a safe in it; at no point did we feel we needed it, but it is nice to have a secure place anyway. The balcony we had was peaceful overlooking the beach and listening to the sea, with chairs, deckchairs, plus a yoga mattress. We borrowed deckchairs and beach towels for the beach, there were also some bodyboards if we'd wanted. Hyacinth makes it clear that it is your home whilst you are there. The beach literally is a 1 minute walk, and is both quiet and beautiful. The food at Ezhara Beach House is exceptional, her cook really is great. We stayed a week and enjoyed numerous types of fish, cooked in different ways, plus calamari, prawn curry, spicy chicken, heaps of vegetables, water buffalo and lamb, and so much more. Hyacinth will often check what you'd prefer, if available at the market that day. The breakfast have a good choice each day too, always a variant or two. And fruit for you to keep for lunch. Ooh and great masala chai for breakfast and at around 4pm with a little snack treat. If staying in any upstairs rooms, I feel this wouldn't be very suitable for anyone immobile. We were lucky with all the other guests that we bumped into in our week, from France, Madagascar, Germany, Sweden and the UK - all were interesting, well behaved and wonderful company. Hyacinth is a fun lady, with a lovely infectious laugh and we had a super time!

I stayed 4 nights beginning of February. This the fourth time I stay here. Like many of Hyacinths guest I am a repeater. And for good reasons! It’s as nice as ever before( read my first 3 reviews , or better, read the latest review in January 2024 from “ Karen UK” it gives an excellent description of Ezhara beach house ) Unfortunately I could only stay 4 days do to other commitments. But for sure I would love to return again. Its such a lovely place with Hyacinth, the best host in India, I have come across. (And this is my 22 second trip to India)

Fantastic 3 night stay, in a peaceful setting right on the beach. The house is situated in a small cove where the water is calmer than the rest of the coastline due to rocks forming a natural harbour-like area. The coastline in the area has deserted golden sands backed by palm trees but note that although the beach is flat at the top it slopes steeply into the sea. It’s a strict muslim area so ladies need to cover up when not swimming to be respectful to the locals. The house is an old heritage house with small traditional rooms, This didn’t worry us as we stayed on the first floor and had sole use of the 2 bedrooms, bathroom and the beautiful and quirky decorated upstairs terrace with sea and forest views. There was a good variety and copious amounts of freshly cooked food for breakfast and dinner which is eaten communally with other guests. Hyacinth asks guests their preferences and will take them to market with her. Fresh fruit and dried snacks and unlimited bottles of water are provided during the day. Hyacinth is extremely welcoming and knowledgeable about the area with some fascinating stories. She bends over backwards to ensure her guests have a good time. She is an honest, broad minded, independent, fun loving and well-travelled woman and we had a lot of laughs!

What a charming place to stay! Hyacinth has made a very welcoming, comfortable and colourful home by the beach. She is a fantastic host, kind and thoughtful, greeting us on our arrival with garlands of flowers and a cup of tea. The food is excellent and plentiful, with lots of fresh fruit, huge flasks of tea and coffee for breakfast and sweet treats after supper. The location is quiet and the beach almost deserted, but the bustling town of Kannur is just a tuc-tuc ride away - which Hyacinth will arrange. All in all we loved our stay with Hyacinth and would be very happy to return one day.

First we booked 2 nights, after the 1. we decided to stay for 2 weeks. There were a good atmosphere. The old romantic house have downstairs 2 cozy, lovely detailed rooms, upstairs as well, addditionally a hugh terrace. It was all very clean. We enjoyed this peaceful and isolated place. The beach is outstanding beautiful and we swam every day. Hyazinth ( the owner) took us to town for marked, beautysalon, tailor and special icecream. She also helped us with the train tickets and other needs as well. The team is very cordial. We highly recomment this accomodation if you love to stay in touch with the locals.
