Seaside Finolhu Baa Atoll Maldives, a Member of Design Hotels

We have just returned from a fabulous 2 week stay at Finolhu. We have been lucky to stay at a number of lovely Maldivian resorts but Finolhu brought together the best of all of them. The water villas are beautifully decorated with every possible comfort and the outside deck is incredibly spacious, private and comfortable with plenty of shade if required. Our rooms were immaculately looked after by Majeed who could not have tried any harder. The island is stunning (especially the Beach Club area and the sandbank), with a great house reef and the food is delicious. We all loved every single meal at Crab Shack, Kanusan and Arabian Grill. The chefs and entire food and beverage team run a superb operation. The premium all inclusive package is worth every penny. It was a real treat to drink Tattinger, eat grilled lobster, giant prawns, scallops and fillet steak whenever you wanted to at no extra charge. Dive Butler, the dive school, is highly professional and well run by Mara, Laura and Maria. Laura could not have done any more to ensure the family’s diving experiences were exciting, interesting and good fun. The manta cleaning station dive will never be forgotten. A massive thank you Laura for being a great instructor to pass our Advanced Open Water and Nitrox qualifications. Also, thank you to Ivanna, the marine biologist, for an amazing manta snorkelling trip to Hanifaru Bay and for imparting your detailed knowledge and enthusiasm. The wonderful staff are the true heart of the resort and clearly incredibly well trained and well looked after by a very hands on and engaged General Manager and management team. It is almost impossible to name individuals but Asma, our fabulous Roohu, Sude, Nikitha, Deny, Moustafa, Fahudu, Ashfaan, Ali, Messi and Shaif all stood out. We have definitely forgotten other names and for that we apologise. The very well appointed gym is also well worth a mention and the inclusion of a Pilates reformer was perfect and something I have never had the privilege of using in another hotel gym. Don’t even hesitate to book this fabulous resort as we could not recommend a stay at Finolhu more highly. We will certainly be back as soon as we possibly can. We celebrated our 20th anniversary at Finolhu, and I’m so glad we chose it. From the moment we landed in the Maldives to the moment we boarded our flight home, we were incredibly well taken care of. The resort is absolutely stunning, and the staff were not only professional but also genuinely warm and welcoming. It truly felt like they wanted us to have the best experience possible. Our butler/roohu Shah, was exceptional—an amazing human being who organized all our activities, got us where we needed to be, and seemed to anticipate our needs before we even voiced them. At times, it felt like he could read my mind! He played a huge part in making this one of our most memorable trips. The food and drinks were delicious, with a wide variety of options to suit any craving. We enjoyed the live entertainment and treated ourselves to a luxury spa experience—which I highly recommend. Everyone we encountered—from the waitstaff and housekeepers to the friendly bartenders and even the staff we passed along the way—made us feel truly special. They struck the perfect balance between attentive service and giving us space to explore and relax on our own. It all came together to create a truly magical experience.

We had a wonderful holiday at Finolhu. We' ll keep this very special experience forever in our minds. The resort is very nice, very familiar and the whole team is extraordinary. Samey and Shaif gave us very good advices during the wonderful dinners at Kanusan . Our favourite lunch restaurant was Crabshack, a very special location with a wonderful team. Many thank to Fahudu, he gave us a lot of good advices in Crabshack and in Arabian grill. All the restaurants on Finolhu are very very nice and the complete team very kind. The Milklab was the favourite place of our son. He liked it very much! The pool bar team and the beach team were also very friendly. Many thanks to Nandu and Ricki.
