From the bus station in Kandy, a taxi costs 300 rupees, although they start at 700. On the way back to the station, the owner called a taxi for 200. Local tukers offer rent for the whole day: the outskirts of the city 1000 (Buddha statue, plantations, botanical garden, stone workshop, etc.), exit to the observation tower 25 km one way - 6000 rupees (at the hotel the owner offered 5000). The guest house is located on a mountain, we walked there and back for three days, but for those who find it difficult to climb, this should be taken into account. The building is spacious, several floors with different levels and rooms of different categories. The house is spacious, clean, interesting, in a beautiful place, the owner is very friendly, two cute cats live in the house. The room is spacious, there is no air conditioning, but there is a ceiling fan, it was quite cool when we arrived, so I even froze at night (no blanket, just sheets), so the air conditioning is not very important. Very high-quality bed linen. No soap and shampoo, bring your own. The windows have transparent curtains, it is very light in the morning, if you wake up, take a sleep mask and earplugs (in the mornings on the first floor they talk loudly). There is no kettle or dishes in the room, there is a kitchen in the lobby, you can not cook yourself, but we were allowed to boil a kettle, brew tea and peel and cut fruit. In the mornings they serve breakfast there (breakfast from 7.30, toast, flatbread, jam, tea, for us very little, apparently for the Chinese living in the neighboring house too, they bought eggs and boiled them for breakfast in large quantities). On the other hand, everyone is different and everyone has breakfast differently. I understand that the climate is very humid, everything dries very poorly (our T-shirts last for two days) and mold is inevitable, but the mold in the bathroom needs to be cleaned, I had to pour sanitizer all over everything myself. There is a problem with hot water. Perhaps because the hotel is on a mountain, there is no water pressure, it is pumped by a pump, to get hot water, you need to turn on the heater in 15 minutes. On the first day, water appeared at the end of washing, on the second day it did not flow at all (perhaps the Chinese from the neighboring room ate it).

4 points for the more enthusiastic housekeeper, the rest of the facilities and hygiene are worrying. The B&B was converted from a villa, which should have been quite distinctive, but it was not done well, which was a waste. The location is on the mountain, the scenery is okay, but it is a bit difficult to charter a car to drive up.
