It is conveniently located in a quiet place though still very close to the lakeside. The hosts are incredibly welcoming and I really enjoyed my meals there

Very friendly owner Mrs Shanini. We received a delicious and varied breakfast. Everything super fresh. Homemade jams are really fantastic. Thé hoppers were the best we had during our roundtrip. Shanini even taught us how they were made. Because the hotel was not fully booked, we received a free upgrade to a still bigger and even more beautiful room. Shame that we only could stay for one night.

We had a great time on our recent stay at Villa 49. Shanani was a fantastic host and cooked us amazing food. The rooms are spacious, clean and all have AC. We especially liked the roof terrace on the top bedroom. Location is also good being very close to the lake.

Villa 49 is a very nice place Very friendly host Great cook and perfect rice and curry Wonderful breakfast Very Kind staff Very Cosy room Very close to city center on foot I highly recommend Villa 49 for a stay in Kandy for 1 night or more.......

Villa 49 was a wonderful homely accommodation. Shenani and Amila did their utmost to ensure we had everything we needed. Shenani provided beautiful traditional breakfasts each morning and a home cooked Sri Lankan meal in the evening. Amila greeted use on our return each day with a smile and willingness to help. The rooms were spacious and very comfortable. I would highly recommend.

Very comfortable, clean, and elegant, room and house. Lovely decor. Gracious hostess and host served excellent home-cooked breakfast . Situation very convenient for exploring Kandy. Family holiday, 2 adjacent rooms very convenient.

Sehr schönes Hotel im Herzen von Kandy! Die Gastgeber sind sehr freundlich und vom ersten Moment haben wir uns wie zu Hause gefühlt. Wir wurden mit einer heißen Tasse Tee und Ginger-Cookies herzliche empfangen. Die geräumigen Zimmer sind sehr sauber und sehr geschmackvoll eingerichtet. Wir hatten das Zimmer ganz oben mit einer riesigen Terasse (ca. 25 qm) und einer wahnsinnig Aussicht auf die Stadt. Tolle Randlage am Kandy Lake und im Grünen. Von der Terasse konnten wir Affen beobachten und sehr viele Singvögel hören. Ins Zentrum zum Zahntempel sind es ca. 10 bis 15 Minuten zu Fuß. Herzlichen Dank an das ganze Team für Ihre Freundlichket, die Hilfe bei der Reiseplanung und die sehr familiäre Atmosphäre. Wirklich sehr empfehlenswert!!! After 7 years we came back to Villa 49. Again, great hospitality in a beautiful place. Our room with terrace was great: phantastic view, clean and spacious. Good breakfast in a family like environment. The owner did all to make us feel at home.
