Our first impression was wow!! What a beautiful property and we entered our room. To our surprise when the room perfume wore off, the room started smelling of mould. My asthmatic son was wheezing and coughing all through the night. Finally at 1.00 am we asked for a room change and we were shifted to a less smelly room. In the morning they offered us a big suite with dipping pool,we did not need a suite and the dipping pool had leaves in it. So we passed the offer. Then they gave us compensatory unlimited drinks from 5-7 pm. We were obviously out during those hours so we asked if we could get the drinks at 9. We were told no no we can only give you 4 drinks. Okay, we ordered 4, after waiting for half hour, we were told that they can only give us beers or cocktails and not the scotch. Frankly, we didn’t ask them for the compensation, and it was promised than it should have been given. We told them that we will pay for the drinks. The way they handled this situation was miserable. We felt as if a big favour is being thrown our way. The nice chef came to my son during dinner and told him that he would get him a chocolate cake after dinner, but then a serving staff comes and asks, mam do you really need it? Oh no! We don’t need anything, we can afford our drinks and cakes. What we did not need was a mouldy health hazard room. The saving grace of our stay was nice lady at grill restaurant (ms. Nandini, as i do not recall correctly) who went an extra mile to give my son a nice time and made pizzas with him, and the executive chef who was extremely warm since the beginning.
