Cape Kanapitsa Hotel & Suites

My wife and I had a reasonable experience at this hotel, however have rated this as a 3* on the basis that the hotel is not a 5* and so would seem strange and potentially misleading for others to give anything else. The Pro's 1) Staff - from reception to the pool bar to housekeeping, staff at the hotel were exceptional, always happy to please. 2) Room cleanliness - apart from smell noted below, the room cleanliness was of a very good standard, with housekeeping changing towels etc on a daily basis. It would have been a nice touch to have water replenished on a daily basis (like at other hotels), but not a big deal, just a suggestion. 3) Breakfast/bar food - plenty of choice at breakfast and enjoyable. We ate from the pool bar on two occasions - both being good food and generous helpings (Classic Club Sandwich and BBQ Burger). The Cons 1) The building itself: the intention was probably there at design stage, but the execution of the build lacks in many departments, with the primary one being not finishing off many of the finer details (such as floors in corridors, lighting on steps, exposed pipework and electrics and steel girders under balconies left exposed). The room itself lacks furniture and what there is is of an inferior quality. 2) The smell in our room/in corridors - the smell from drains was a problem in both our room and adjacent corridors. Buying lavender didn't really help too much. All in all, a reasonable stay at the hotel, subject to the above.

Rated as 5 star. I have been to 70 plus countries and stayed in 3-5 * hotels. This is NOT 5*. Not even a 3. Most rooms are north facing so you dont get the sun. So drying wet swim wear and towels is hard. Cleanliness is poor. Dirty fire appliances.Breakfast is great.

Views from the room were spectacular….looking across to Skopelos Staff very friendly and the breakfast layout was excellent with good coffee and orange juice (not squash as some places do) Room was a very good size and the aircon was also excellent and included in the price. The pool area was very clean and food at the bar was good quality. Cocktails a bit pricey at 12-14 Euros but you can always purchase spirits etc from the supermarket down the road. There is a bit of a hill climb from the beaches if you have walking difficulties We really liked this hotel and location…bus at the end of the road into town or take the water taxi

We stayed at this hotel at the beginning of September. It cost 25 euros from airport to hotel by taxi. The hotel has beautiful views , and a short walk to Kanapista beach where you can get a water taxi to skiathos town for 4.50 euros each way. There is a bus stop at the bottom of the hill which takes you into town, however these are very full, we had to watch two buses pass us by as they were full to bursting .Breakfast at the hotel was shocking, often no coffee left and had to keep asking staff for glasses for juice. Also no cutlery, people had to wait because it was being washed., very slow replenishing breakfast items, people just standing around waiting for breakfast items. One lady was eating off a saucer as there was no plates. Totally unacceptable. There was two lads working the bar there who worked very hard and a credit to the hotel. Reception staff were lovely but definitely not a 5 star hotel,
