Kalamazoo was not up to the standards we’d come to expect from Holiday Inn Express. They were short on towels (2 towels for 4 travelers), didn’t answer the phone, so we had to go downstairs to get towels (ended up getting pool towels). I would have let that slide, but then breakfast was bad: nothing out but scones at opening, lukewarm food when finally brought out, no pancake machine, no fruit, no omelets, no oatmeal, 4-day-expired milk cartons, and then no milk when brought to their attention (so no cereal, no cream for coffee). They had scones, scrambled eggs, sausages, biscuits and gravy, yogurt, and bread products to toast. The scones were good.
