Kona Tiki Hotel - No Resort Fees

I am so happy that I had read the reviews on Trip Advisor and stayed at this gem of a hotel. My room wqs perfectly clean and even though I stayed in the smallest room, it had everything I needed. The larger rooms looked extra nice if you needed them. The bed was very comfortable with good bedding. There was plenty of hot water and nice towels for showers and although the bathroom was small and I do like a little more counter space, I managed just fine. Kai and Evelyn at the front desk were so helpful and made me feel welcome. When you are an older woman traveling alone, that means a lot. I was able to find a parking spot in their lot just steps from my door every day. They provide some little extra touches that are helpful. They had beach type towels in the room and some other beach gear by the office. They even had a cart with a selection of books that you could take and read. There was no air conditioning or TV as they tell you, but the WiFi was great and I used my iPad. One of the things I enjoyed very much was watching the ocean waves right outside my patio. And occasionally when there was a large one, it would go over their wall and a little of it would splash into the pool. I sat out on their nice pool deck one afternoon and relaxed with a good book. That was a treat. The location was convenient but quiet for sleeping. I would be sure to stay there again if I come back to Kailua-Kona.

This property was exceptional! The genuine aloha spirit can only be shared by a born and raised kanaka. It was refreshing to hear a local picking up the phone for reservation and a special treat to meet him upon arrival. Kai is the definition of old school Hawaiian hospitality. This company/property is not just lucky but blessed to have him there. The hotel was a wonderful and clean boutique style hotel, quaint, right on the ocean but what made the stay really unique and special was what Kai brought to the property through his expertise, professionalism and genuine aloha. We are already planing our next trip because of him and this property will be our #1 pick. Mahalo piha e Kai. Until our next trip… aloha.

We enjoyed our stay at the Kona Tiki Hotel very much! It is clean and the staff is wonderful. We spent so much time out on our balcony watching the ocean and the little bright yellow fish that swim around the rocks! A beautiful place to stay and we recommend it to everyone!

We stayed here for 3 nights on our recent trip to Kona. We were very pleased with the hotel. The room had what we needed for a short stay. Appreciated having a small refrigerator and toaster. Best part was our balcony that overlooked the ocean. We were able to borrow snorkel equipment from the hotel which was very appreciated. Would definitely stay here again!
