Oneta Resort

What an amazing place; great location, great people, great service, great food, great everything! If you're looking for a truly authentic Fijian experience, this is the place to go. Everyone was so friendly, the resort is perfectly located, with amazing snorkelling and diving opportunities.

Where to start?? We visited Oneta as a family of four in June, with our two younger teens doing their OW course while my wife and I did a few other dives and then joined our kids after their course. I had last visited Kandavu 25 years ago and so had steeled myself for the inevitable change but I was amazed to find the place has barely changed, both above and below water. From the outset, the entire team at Oneta were simply incredible, extremely warm and welcoming, relaxed yet super organised, were fantastic with our kids in and out of the water - we simply had the most amazing time. The diving was world class, food amazing, accomodation and facilities clean and very comfortable. The warmth and pride of the team in Fijian customs shone through in every interaction, we were very sad to leave. Needless to say, we will be back (soon hopefully) to this little slice of heaven, Vinaka!

It was the 4 Time in Oneta Resort, and for sure not the last Time. I think this says a lot, when i travel from Germany to Fiji again and again… just to stay in this Resort. Its a paradise, super Staff, great Resort, excellent Food, fantastic Reefs, Mantas, Corals… everything. See you soon Yours Ann & Stivi :-)

Oneta Resort is a magical place. Selfishly I am reluctant to express how wonderful it is for fear it is over visited in the future. The location is remote – a short hopper flight from Nadi to Kadavu Island; landing on a short airstrip bordered on both ends by sea; followed by about an hour scenic boat ride to Ono Island. The resort is in a lovely tropical setting with bures and villas on both the hillside and the beaches and a central dining area. The loving Fijian staff are welcoming and ready to accommodate your every need. The food is amazing at every meal, with locally grown fruits and vegetables. Don’t miss the Lovo and Kava ceremonies on Saturday nights! Massages are available to send you into ultimate relaxation. Excursions such as kayaking, fishing, hiking and visits to local communities are offered daily. The dive center is stocked with equipment, and a safe, professional dive crew ensures you get the best dives on the spectacular Great Astrolabe Reef – which has plenty of dive sites for both new and experienced divers. And the possibility is high of you having a mesmerizing manta dance with one of the local residents. I was fortunate to be at the resort when the owners arrived for a stay. They are lovely people who I admire for working so well with the staff and local communities to provide health, education and utility resources required for a prosperous life. I traveled alone to the resort, but after my week-long visit I had lots of new friends that I will always remember. I will return.

We stayed 7 nights but once we were there we really wished we had booked to stay a second week. This is the 5th resort we have stayed at in Fiji and it is absolutely the best out of all of them. This is an eco resort, the grounds are all maintained, the rooms and the food were very good. The staff are absolutely incredible in every aspect and they go out of their way to ensure you are happy and they made you feel like part of the family. Unfortunately we didn't get the best weather during our stay so we couldn't do as much diving and snorkeling that we would have liked. Anna and the activity staff made sure to accommodate all guests activity requests with safety being the priority which we really appreciatdd. This is an incredible place for diving and snorkleing with the manta rays and we would jump at the chance to go back.
