Great location and clean property. These are the tiny houses near a riverside, the views and beauty is serene. Owner was responsive, however, we needed extra bedding but didn’t get them for the night. Turns out I did not use an after hours line, so you want to be careful when you call.
Some basic supplies like coffee, sugar, oil in the house would have been nice. There’s no grocery near by.

The owners were great! They reached out to find out my ETA and made adjustments to my accommodations. The coffee shop on site is on point. We were able to pick up some food for the day hike ahead. I would highly recommend this place.

We had a wonderful stay at Strawhouse Resort. The property is beautiful, with the cafe and patio along the river. Good pizza and coffee roasted on site. Amazing hospitality from Don, Julia and all the Strawhouse team. We stayed in the yurt. What a fun experience. It was cozy and well appointed. This area along the Trinity River is so beautiful.

Great place. Right on the Trinity river. Stove and microwave and outdoor Charcoal BBQ. No oven. Clean. Easy check-in. Pleasant and helpful hosts. Great cafe for breakfast and lunch and snacks with top notch coffee . Internet good for email only, not for streaming. Kitchen has pots and and glassware and pans and bottle opener and salt and pepper but nothing else like oil nor spices nor foil. Super relaxing. Nice deck. Wonderful bed. We have been there annually for 6-7 years and will continue to return.

StrawHouse was a great experience! Very cozy accommodations and tranquil environment with excellent coffee and down home hospitality. Don and Julia were the absolute best! Even the other patrons were great. Highly recommend!

The Strawhouse Resort is a PERFECT getaway! We have now gone 2 years in a row to celebrate our wedding anniversary, and it couldn’t be a more complete experience! The tiny houses/cottages are super clean, comfortable and cute! They’ve got everything you’d need for a stay. On the weekends they serve delicious wood-fired pizzas in addition to their other house-made cafe offerings. The property is right on the Trinity River and there are several sweet little sitting areas and decks set up to lounge around on or eat dinner/sip wine in the evenings. It’s private only to the guests, so we hardly saw anyone else at all in the “beach” areas during the day. Even though the Strawhouse is far from anything else (except easy access rafting companies), it really has everything you need for a week or weekend away! We will definitely be going back next year as well!

We enjoyed are stay. The cottage was comfortable and the cafe patio was a serene oasis to start the day. Breakfast fare was quite good. We love being away from crowds in nature. Even saw a beautiful bear about 7 miles down river from the resort.
