I have been in the North Rheiland-Westphalia area this week, in Jülich to be specific, and I have to admit that Germans have a bad reputation about being too serious and strict. I stayed at this hotel because it was in the very centre of the city, and it had good connections with public transport, which is what we were looking for. The hotel is cosy, well decorated, peaceful and in a very good state of conservation. It seems to have been an official building back in time, and reconverted into a hotel. Maybe that's the only "weak" point, and it's the lack of a lift, although there are only two grounds. The room (single) is ample and comfortable, with a good heating system (maybe too much), a desk, chair, flatscreen tv, and lots of amenities like a Nespresso coffee makes, iron, kettle, ironing board and a small fridge. The mattress is a queen-size one, soft and hygienised, warm duvet and a complimentary plaid in the cupboard. The windows give to an inner ground, so there are no annonying noises, also because the hotel is located in a pedestrian-only area. As for the staff, they are extremely helpful and nice, always with a smile in their faces. We had to order a taxi to take us to Düren train station, and they did it in the blink of an eye (extremely punctual taxi, by the way), so I can only say good things about the ladies in the reception too. Definitely, I will repeat in this hotel when I get back, in March 2025
