Het ontbijt is ‘do it yourself’.

We are currently staying tonight in a riverside 2 bedroom cabin. It is basic, but very cosy with our own sauna. Staff, as expected have been very friendly and welcoming with the beds all made up and sauna fired up for us. The cabins have electricity and a kitchen, but no running water. Showering and toilet options are the communal (clean) shower and toilet about 200m from the cabin, or a dry toilet in the cabin (we plan on only using this for a number 1) or a sauna and ice bath for a shower. There is Wifi that works well. Staff have made an igloo on the lake which another family are sleeping in tonight. You will need to bring your own food. As staff afre limited and to keep prices reasonable, guests are expected to take off the sheets at the end of the stay, sweep the floors and leave the cabin clean and tidy as they found it. The location is about 13km from Kiruna and a great place to see the Noorthern Lights if the weather and atmospheric conditions are right. I would recommend Aurora Camp

The actual cabins are small but well equipped. The camp is not close to anything else (stores, restaurants) so you must either order your food before you arrive (good luck having them remember) or spend $100 going to and from Kiruna getting food each time. We had booked all of our excursions through the camp. They were run or managed very haphazardly. Every day we had to call to remind them to pick us up because they forgot us. On the tours, some were managed much better than others. The first night, we did Northern Lihht watching, a dinner, and staying in an igloo. The staff left us with the warming cabin not restocked with water at the sink. They told us we could walk up to the camp with running water to brush our teeth, yet didn’t walk us up, just told us to follow the lanterns. I got up there just fine but got lost walking back for more than an hour before my husband found me (I kept going back to the camp). Turns out that all the locals light their paths with lanterns. Anyway, if you book here, have a cell phone, and know that you’ll have to arrange food in advance and remind them of every tour because they have no idea what they are doing. The last thing you should know is that the camp is in an absolutely gorgeous setting. The tours were still fun despite the issues, we enjoyed the igloo stay, and it’s worth doing.

Siamo stati a marzo 2022.

Nice location next to the lake in a remote setting. Very comfortable rooms/cabins, with everything you need for a relaxing stay. Staff was very kind and helpful, they will do anything to make your stay better.

The camp is situated around 25 kms from Kiruna in the midst of nature. There is forest around and is definitely a must place for a nature lover. The entry to the camp is a bit tricky (though you have sign board) from the highway. I was there in the coldest time of the winter but I think summer will be beautiful as well. It is just beside the river, which was completely frozen and we viewed the northern lights just from the room through the glass (though the intensity was very less). Most important point for this camp, please travel with all your necessary item (food, drinks etc) as there is nothing nearby.
