Four Seasons Hotel the Westcliff, Johannesburg

This was our first stay at a Four Seasons anywhere in the world. We stayed 3 nights and decided on here as we wanted to relax and feel safe in a town that we were uncertain about. We left feeling like family. I cannot rave enough about the service of every single staff member we encountered. They went above and beyond to make our stay special. If the location puts you off- Ubers are 1 - 2 minutes away and the top restaurants in Joburg were within a 12 minute drive. Rooms were spacious with a huge bathroom. Beds were super comfortable and most importantly rooms were quiet. To the Four Seasons- Thank you for taking such good care of us while staying with you.

Room unimpressive and outdated. TV remote non-functional. Bath water light brown in colour. Staff inattentive. Breakfast freshness and quality poor. Arrived impromptu and asked for best rate. Was charged R6 950.00 for the night when the rates on *********** were advertised as R3 975.00 per night. Asked if hotel was full and was told it was not. Entire experience was impersonal. Room was outdated and hotel reception has not seen an upgrade for several years. Bed was small and short and not fit for a tall person (1.90 metres). Views impeded and diminished by construction ongoing at hotel. Flames staff inattentive and uniformed regarding wines and menu as usual. Breakfast buffet had old recycled food on offer and staff in kitchen were standing around chatting. Generally a very poor experience and will not do it again.

The staff at the Westcliff have made this entire experience truly remarkable. From Reception all the way to the staff at the spa, every member of staff made this stay and our wedding something so special. The food was also absolutely delicious and everything we ate was amazing! to make a special note about Kevern, from the moment we sent our first email he has gone above and beyond to not only make us feel welcome but to ensure every step of our wedding journey went perfectly. He ensured that every milestone was an event in itself and we feel like he is the main reason why we had such an incredible day. He was controlling everything in the background so that we weren't stressed about anything which we appreciated so much. He also made sure that we got our alone time together on our wedding day in the rush of everything which is the time that we cherished most. Kevern is not only an amazing leader of his team but also such an amazing person and we could not be more thankful of everything that he did. We feel part of the Four Seasons family and we are extremely grateful. Thank you to everyone at The Westcliff.

Wow and wow! Exceptional service from the moment we arrived with out transport we were ushered directly to our Presidential Suite for an in-suite check in which was fabulous! The beautiful treats and butler service was excellent, thanks Bongani! Dinner was awesome as well as the Apple Crumble Martini that was specially made for me, thanks Barman! Housekeeping was exceptional, my husband unfortunately left a lot of clothes behind and Bongani and the staff were exemplary at arranging for these to be picked up and delivered to us! The Spa was amazing, incredible body massage- thank you kindly! Will be returning next year and cannot wait o stay again, thank you so much to all the wonderful staff!

We had a magical experience celebrating a wedding anniversary at the Four Seasons. From checkin to checkout, the staff made our stay extra special in so many ways. From complimentary champagne to the excellent meals we enjoyed every minute. And even though we experienced a slight room issue, the management team responded super well and totally made up for it. Definitely one of the best hotel stays in Johannesburg.

If you need a lovely place while in Johannesburg I highly recommend the Four Seasons. The staff, property, and restaurant were terrific.
