Johannesburg was our jumping off point for Zambia and a rest stop between very long flights. Location is residential so pretty quiet. I loved the old world charm, antique furnishings, seating areas; it's an historic manor house. Booked the Coach House as we were only there 2 nights. Sun sets early so we arrived in the dark with our take away food. First night basically exhausted. Decided to spend the day on the grounds, in the morning we were offered an upgrade as a large group was checking out. Moving to the Onze Rust Emmies suite was so much better. The grounds are amazing walk ways with little hidden areas, ponds, ducks, so unique for a city location. Now for my takeaways, we traveled for a month and the devil is in the details. First room had no hand towels, paper towels, eating utensils for 2. Lights were so dim it was really hard unpacking that first night. Bathrooms tho in both rooms are huge. Emmie's suite has a private little patio in back and lovely furniture and a working TV. We walked to the Killarney Mall and WOW, needed a pharmacy and bought quite a few things at Woolworths (who knew they were still around) Hotel staff friendly and very accommodating for breakfast. I would definitely stay here again and recommend to anyone it's got that old african feel to it.
