Hotels in Shaxi Ancient Town, Jianchuan

This is my third time in Yunnan. The last time was 4 years ago when I passed by Shaxi in a hurry. At that time, I felt that this place was like a paradise. So this time, I went straight to Shaxi without hesitation, and chose Kogondi after comparing many options. Facts have proved that my choice was absolutely correct! As someone who worked as a DM in a five-star hotel in Shanghai for 10 years, I can say responsibly that whether it is software or hardware, I wouldn't say it's the best in the whole country, but it is definitely the ceiling in Yunnan. Even compared with the top hotels in Shanghai, I think Cogongdi is not inferior. The service is responsive, the room facilities are high-end, and even the shampoo and shower gel are from Bulgari. It can be said that the store spared no expense in such details. Staying at Kegundi is a perfect experience. If you want to visit Shaxi again, you must choose Kegundi.

This is a locally run hotel. Location is good, right ij the old town . The room has everything you need, the breakfast is amazing! There staffs are very helpful, polite and attentive. You are in good hands if you decided to stay in this hotel. We will definitely come back to stay with them again.

This property is run by a nice old couple and they are really really awesome people and aunty also speak good English and will give you all the information about shaxi. Location is right in old town with a very quick walk to the main old theatre street. Rooms are beautifully decorated with all amenities, heater etc. They also have open seating space on 2nd floor where one can read books and there are even toys for kids to play, my son was so happy and kept himself busy. They helped arranged us a sharing taxi for lijiang and also helped us drop our bags to taxi pickup point. Shaxi is a must visit in itinerary to this part of Yunnan and you can simply select this place to stay and they will make sure you leave with only happiness. I wish we can visit shaxi and again one day and stay here in this cute little hotel. Thank you so much.

The thousand-year-old ancient stage in the ancient town carries the weight of history, and every mottled spot tells the story of the past. • Service: Warm and meticulous: From the staff who check in at the front desk to the room service staff, everyone carries the unique simplicity and enthusiasm of Shaxi. A cup of hot tea upon arrival instantly dispels the fatigue of the journey; during the stay, the staff will recommend niche attractions and special foods according to my itinerary, making me feel the care of home. When I left, I also received a handwritten blessing card, which is really unforgettable. • Room: The perfect fusion of design and comfort: The room layout is ingenious, cleverly combining modern simplicity with traditional Bai elements. The wooden furniture exudes a warm luster, matched with elegant fabrics, creating a warm and peaceful atmosphere. Smart facilities are available, and the electric curtains can be opened and closed with one button, so you can enjoy the beautiful scenery outside the window while lying on the bed. The bathroom products are of high quality. When bathing, the water from the shower head is like a clear spring in the mountains, washing away your fatigue. • Dining: Shaxi on the tip of the tongue: The breakfast is rich and varied, with both local specialty thin bean powder and baba, as well as Western bread and yogurt. The ingredients are fresh, and every bite is full of the taste of Shaxi. Dinner was authentic Yunnan cuisine, black chopped pork, grilled fish with lemongrass, with good color, aroma and taste, and one bite made the taste buds indulge in the world of Shaxi's food. • Public area: full of literary atmosphere: the hotel's book bar has a collection of many books related to Shaxi's history and culture. In your spare time, pick a favorite book, sit by the window, accompanied by the fragrance of tea, and immerse yourself in the ocean of knowledge. The rooftop has an excellent view, and the stars are dotted at night, as if you can touch the Milky Way with your hand. Here, time becomes slow and long. Shaxi Hotel is my warmest home in Shaxi. It is not only a hotel, but also a link between the past and the present, the city and nature. Next time I come to Shaxi, I will definitely choose here to continue writing a beautiful story with Shaxi.

Service: There is nothing to complain about. The boss and his wife met us outside and helped us carry our luggage back to the B&B and even moved it upstairs. Thank you very much. He kept inviting us to drink tea, but unfortunately I couldn't drink because of my stomachache. The boss lady also cares when I have a stomachache Location: In the old town, near the old bridge (I forgot the name) Room: Very clean. The floor heating is very warm and there is also heating in the bathroom, a lifesaver for those who are afraid of the cold. The bed is also very comfortable, but the pillow is a bit too high. Shaxi old town itself is a true gem on its own, and this place is a gem in a gem. Hidden just outside of the Shaxi old town, it's proximity to the town square （寺登街）is a big plus. The landscape is super cozy, highly suitable for those who want to really have a good break from the hustle and bustle of city life, resting ones mind in an uninterrupted environment. Let's not forget the lady owner taking care of the place, who is so accommodating and helpful. And let's not forget the hot fresh milk provided every evening, which gives another level of warmness to the stay. Notes: if you are here on a Friday, you are of luck. The farmers market held weekly on Friday is just a few minutes walk away from this guesthouse too!

Shaxi was an unexpected surprise on this trip, quiet and poetic. This homestay perfectly blends into this tranquil atmosphere, quiet and convenient, and the location is also ideal. The host is enthusiastic and lively and considerate, making us feel warm and friendly. The room is very carefully decorated, and many details can feel the owner's care. We had a very pleasant time here with our baby, recommended 🫶

I revisited Shaxi Ancient Town and planned to stay for two nights this time. I spent a lot of time researching before choosing this homestay, and I was not disappointed. You can park at the door, which is very convenient for self-driving. It is very leisurely and comfortable to walk into the yard. The various plants and flowers are matched very uniquely. The hotel provided afternoon tea, fruit, flower tea and snacks. There are Chinese and Western breakfast options. I tried them all. The dumplings and corn in the buffet area are delicious. Overall, it is a very good experience, which adds a lot to this trip to Shaxi. Thumbs up👍

I really like it here, it's beautiful and comfortable. The view from the second floor is very good. Standing on the balcony, you can still hear the singing coming from the Yujin Bridge. It's about a 3-minute walk from the ancient town. The breakfast and afternoon tea provided are home-cooked and delicious. For breakfast, you can drink coffee handmade by the staff. After drinking coffee made by machines in other accommodations for several days, it was a surprise!
