I highly recommend Kegongdi! I booked it two months in advance. When the hotel learned that it was an anniversary, they upgraded the room type and decorated it. The hotel's toiletries are Bulgari, the hair dryer is Dyson, and the sanitary ware is Hansgrohe. It can be seen that they are of high quality. The breakfast is also very exquisite, and the cross-bridge rice noodles are delicious! Shaxi is really a place full of memories. Staycation in Kegongdi, drink coffee, look at the small bridges and flowing water in the ancient town, and experience the special Jiama and tile cats. This time, every brick and tile seems to tell the story of the caravan and the legend of the Bai people! It's a pity that the time I stayed was short and the weather was not satisfactory. I will experience their coffee next time!

The property is very close to one of the entrances into the old town, so it was very easy to alight the car and just walk over, as cars are not allowed in the old town. First impression of the property was great, as there was a very well maintained garden filled with flowering plants, right when you entered the doors. Eric and Joyce, the friendly and warm owners of this lovely place, were there to greet us too! Fluent in English, Mandarin and Cantonese, it was a breeze chatting and learning more about Shaxi from the two of them! This is especially convenient for tourists who are from SG, MY, who may prefer to communicate in English or Cantonese! Rooms were very clean and heaters were available. There is no air conditioning, but frankly, you will not require that at all! The main street of the old town is just a casual walk away, perhaps just 5 mins from the property. But along the way, you would certainly stop by many spots to have pictures taken as the entire place is so scenic! The houses, the vibes, the courtyards etc, everywhere you turn and look, it's just beautiful. There is no lack of places to dine at, once you are at the old town, so despite the fact that the property does not include food, you will never go hungry. All in all, it was a great experience and we would highly recommend anyone who visits Shaxi to stay over at this awesome property!

Well-appointed and comfortable inn. Excellent location with easy access to attractions (some within less than 5 mins walk), yet is tucked in a quiet corner. Delicious and nutritious breakfast. Most commendable is the warm hospitality. I feel so well-taken care by everyone here. If I were to visit Shaxi again, I will definitely stay here. And do Shaxi justice by staying for at least a couple of days, and explore the vicinity.

I accidentally stayed in the same room as Xu Hongdou B&B. After the girl at the front desk told me about it, I found the clip and watched it again. There are many activities, and everyone can choose. The activities of pine needle dragon and armored horse are very good, especially the armored horse, which is completely different from the ones seen in the ancient town. The girl at the front desk said that the hotel is a rural revitalization project. The next day, I went to the nearby Shilong Village to take a look. It is a large village with more than 200 households. I feel like I should be the one to be revitalized, haha. In addition to Shaxi Ancient Town nearby, it is recommended to go to Shibaoshan when you have time. It is very good. I will come again in the future. Next time I will bring my parents here. I was surprised that the water can be so hot on a winter night. The room was a little cool without air conditioning in mid-December, and the temperature was just right for my physique that is afraid of heat but not cold. The bed was thick and comfortable, and I lay down and had a good night's sleep. There is a 1.5-hour time difference between Shaxi and Beijing time. Of course, you can go to the town to stroll after 9 o'clock in the evening. It is very close to the Grand Theater Commercial Street, and you can say that you can get there by just raising your feet. The day of check-in was the fifteenth day of the winter month. Looking at the bright moon hanging in the sky, accompanied by the twinkling stars around, even breathing feels clear and thorough! There were not many people, and bars and teahouses along the way were still open, accompanied by guitars and singing. Unfortunately, I am not good at drinking and afraid of smoking. After wandering around for a long time, I decided to go back to the inn. As a result, hahahaha, there were housekeepers and guests roasting fire together in the hotel lobby. There was water, tea, and peanuts roasted on the fire at any time. It was a great pleasure to chat with strangers. Early in the morning, I went out to the Heihui River again, watching the morning mist floating slightly and the distant mountains in sight. People who had not moved for a long time could not help but run and wander in the beautiful scenery. Blown through by the cold wind of the winter morning, people were tired from running. When I returned to the inn, a hot breakfast was served. I could only imagine the comfort. The inn is a courtyard on three sides. During the day, the warm sun shines. The old painter who comes to check in every day writes his memoirs in the courtyard, accompanied by a pot of tea. The endless green of the courtyard and the red clothes dotted in it make people gradually intoxicated.

This B&B has no shortcomings in terms of geographical location, hygiene, facilities, etc. The proprietress will pick you up and drop you off at the ancient city and the farm. There was a particularly warm library, and we spent the entire afternoon there on our first day. The room is very large and has all the necessary facilities. The entire homestay is so beautiful that it looks great no matter how you take photos of it. There are some small animals on the farm on the mountain. The calves and lambs all look very healthy. The whole homestay gives people a very relaxing atmosphere. You can take pictures of the stars from the rooftop of the restaurant. There is a large field at the door, and the view is super good without any obstruction. Because they are the first one at the entrance of the village, other B&Bs probably don’t have such a good view. The breakfast provided by the B&B is super delicious, with fresh milk that was just squeezed that day and a variety of fresh vegetables. If you don't want to go out for lunch or dinner, the B&B can also provide it. The meals are all fresh, and the vegetables just picked from the field will be super delicious if you just stir-fry them. The staff are also very friendly. If I return to Shaxi Ancient Town for tourism, I will definitely stay at their place again.
