We had a lovely stay at Pingshe inn in Shaxi. It is very well located, just off the main square but on a road that is reasonably quiet too. The courtyard that the hotel is built around is particularly beautiful. Also, all the staff at the hotel were incredibly helpful and friendly and gave us great recommendations for places to eat around town.

I recommend the Pingshe in so highly. Everything was wonderful. The building and the rooms are so beautiful and comfortable with lovely garden views and a very tranquil feeling. The inn is in a great location with easy walks to restaurants, historical attractions, shopping, and the river. But it is also in a quiet lane so it's very peacefil at night and easy to sleep. The staff were incredible: friendly, helpful, and very patient with us using translation app because we don't speak chinese. They organised a taxi to take us to the stunning grottoes and also a private car to Dali airport.
This is truly one of the best places I have stayed in and if I am in Shaxi again (which I hope with all my heart happens) I will definitely return to this special inn.

The inn is very beautiful, it is a 100 year old house, at the center of the town so it is very convenient to go visit all places. The owner is also very helpful, he helped pick up/deliver our luggages to the street where we got dropped off/departed. He also helped us to reserve seats for shared car to the next destination and answered any questions that we have (via translation apps or wechat). Everyone in the inn is friendly, highly recommended for staying in Shaxi.

We had a wonderful time in Shaxi. The inn is beautiful and very well located in the old town. The staff was super friendly and helpful. We would definitely stay there again.

Hosts are very kind. You can contact them before you arrive and they will be helping you with the luggages! The hotel is in a small alley in the middle of old town Very nice stay at Shaxi.

Enjoyed the stay, the place has great rustic charm, great decor, well lit at night, great location. All in all, a very pleasant stay. Would recommend.
