I like Shaxi so much! The hotel service is good. When we arrived at the ancient city, they helped us carry our luggage 🧳. We also upgraded to a king-size bed room. The weather was cold, but the electric heating baseboards were turned on and the whole room was still very warm! The welcome fruit was apples, which were very sweet. I recommend everyone to come on Fridays. The market is fun and the things are super cheap! The mango is super big and costs 10 yuan for 3 pounds! The beef is also delicious! The persimmon cake is also delicious. If you are not used to the smell of milk, don't buy milk buns and milk tofu, it is very fishy...

Stayed here for 2 nights. It is well-located on the side of the ancient town, allowing us to reach the main sights of Shaxi within 5-10mins walk. Easy with the luggages too if you are arriving in a car which can stop right at the main door. The suite was huge with separate living area, bathroom and had a nice wooden decor. Although it’s already been operating for many years, it felt brand new! Hotel compound itself was beautiful with an airy garden setting. We enjoyed taking breakfasts & afternoon tea at the outdoor benches by the dining hall. Even though it was fully-booked on one of the days, it never felt crowded at all. Staff were courteous, always smiling and happy to offer their services or advice. This is a property one should definitely consider if intending to spend more days in Shaxi & the neighbouring area, so that you could enjoy the hotel itself.

The most worthwhile B&B in Shaxi Ancient Town | Waking up to the first ray of sunshine in the morning I have always wanted to come to Shaxi Ancient Town after seeing the windy places. I finally came here on this vacation. I chose a B&B by blind chance. The service is so good that I can't say anything. The aunt in the store is very enthusiastic. After chatting with the aunt, I learned that she came from the next village to work. We like to eat the rice noodles made by the aunt. Before leaving, she bought some for us to take away and gave us the traditional method of making brown sugar specialty. The whole B&B is in the style of a new Chinese courtyard. There are only nine rooms in such a large courtyard! The furniture is textured and aesthetically pleasing. From the design to the bedding and daily necessities, they are all extreme. The room is very well lit, and I woke up to the first ray of sunshine in the morning. In the afternoon, I drank tea and chatted in the teahouse on the second floor. I felt that the warm sun in Shaxi was really comfortable. It is worthy of being called ”Yunnan Five-Star B&B” and ”the most beautiful B&B” in Shaxi Town👍 After staying in the fast-paced city for a long time, this is a paradise to escape from the high-pressure environment. This is one of the best places we have ever stayed! The rooms are spacious, beautiful and clean, with good sized bathrooms. The courtyard is a peaceful and relaxing place. The breakfast is also filling and well prepared. The boss was the most helpful and accommodating host and went out of his way to make our stay comfortable and to arrange transport for our sight seeing and onward journey. We even shared some tea in the evening, getting to know each other better. The location is also perfect, close to the centre of the magical ancient town. Myself and my partner cannot recommend this guesthouse enough! If you no visit Shaxi, you must stay here!

Well-appointed and comfortable inn. Excellent location with easy access to attractions (some within less than 5 mins walk), yet is tucked in a quiet corner. Delicious and nutritious breakfast. Most commendable is the warm hospitality. I feel so well-taken care by everyone here. If I were to visit Shaxi again, I will definitely stay here. And do Shaxi justice by staying for at least a couple of days, and explore the vicinity.

The hotel is located next to Nanzhai Gate. The ancient town is not very convenient to go anywhere. The boss is super good. Check in and check out to pick us up. The room was clean, the breakfast was delicious, and I had a great time in Shaxi. The only regret is that the room is a bit cold and the air conditioning heating efficiency is slightly lower. But in general it is still not hidden!

This is my first time traveling to Shaxi Ancient Town! I'm really happy to have the opportunity to stay in such a beautiful little B&B here. Although the room is not big, it is just right for me. Everything I need is in it. The address of Mingsu is also very convenient, not far from the city center. My favorite part is probably the grounds here because they are so beautiful. It's perfect for enjoying the sun and drinking tea during the day. The landlord was very chatty and considerate and helped me call a ride to take me to the next city. Next time I come back, I will definitely stay here again!

The hotel is located in the central area of ​​Shaxi Ancient Town🏘️. After booking the hotel, the staff will call to ask if you need a pick-up service. The staff will also guide you to the location where you need to be picked up as quickly as possible to help carry the suitcase. My wife and I are in the hotel industry. This service is perfect. When we go out to travel, we follow the local customs. The hotel is very distinctive. There is a pomegranate tree in the yard. When we heard that we wanted to eat it, we would send it to our room and it was planted. The shampoo provided smells very fragrant, and the breakfast is also very delicious. The corn🌽 is very sweet. It is recommended to friends who come to play.

As soon as you enter the main entrance, the layout of the bonsai in the courtyard can be seen that the owner is extremely cherished! The boss especially emphasizes that everyone should take care of the children. The implication is not to destroy the potted plants haha 😄! The room is spacious and very clean! Especially there is an oversized balcony to dry clothes, we have a wave of people to wash out the ones that have not been washed a few days ago! Comfortable!

To start with, Shaxi is such a precious jewel. The historic preservation collaboration between ETH and Chinese scholars and the locals is impressive. The harmony formed by the nature and the man-made environment is incredible. We wish we had more time to stay and dive deeper. And we absolutely loved our stay at the Flower Inn. It’s really close to the core of the town yet very quiet and peaceful. The garden is meticulously cared for. The most special is an impressive 2-story library housing the owners’ personal book collections. They recently opened the library to the community a few days a week - a generous way to share knowledge and wisdom, and bring the community closer together. The owners are very warm, interested in making friends and sharing their experience. I really enjoyed an evening chat with them and listening to the stories about the town’s history, preservation, local lifestyles and much more. We would love to come back to Shaxi in the future and stay at the Flower Inn again.
