Family-friendly Hotels in Jianchuan

I came here once two years ago, and this is my second stay. Overall, I am a little disappointed. If I come to Shaxi next time, I probably won't choose to stay here again. The hygiene is ok, but the biggest problem is the toilet. I don't know what's wrong with the bathroom door. It's very easy to leak water outside when taking a shower. The water all over the floor and the toilet smell a bit bad, it's very frustrating. There is only a mirror in the toilet in the room, and there is no makeup mirror on the table, which is not very convenient for people who want to put on makeup. In addition, the service is a bit uneven. The front desk service for checking in on the day was very enthusiastic, but the front desk after the shift change was very indifferent. When I came back from outside, I met at the front desk, pretending not to see it and didn't say hello. The food is delicious, the scrambled eggs with tomatoes are delicious, and the breakfast is also delicious.

All the accommodations for this trip to Yunnan were not booked in advance, but we took a look at various options in advance and decided on the spot. When we opened the door of Wuliu Xinsu and saw the room at first sight, we had already identified it! The graceful woman took us around the whole yard, the study, the tea room, the restaurant, the terrace, each one was so meticulous and careful. Walking into our room, I was full of joy. The whole layout was classical and filled with modern simplicity and atmosphere. The room was really big enough. The humidifier placed on the bedside table was so considerate. After all, the climate in Yunnan is relatively dry. The welcome fruits and snacks on the desk were very delicate. The bedding was the white color I liked, and the quilt and double pillows were also very comfortable. The bathroom was dry and wet, which was very humane. The bath water was also large enough, warm enough, and the water flow was stable. The floor heating was very considerate. The breakfast on the second day surprised us even more. Auntie asked for our preferences in advance. We chose Western food, toasted bread and sandwiches, yogurt and nuts, freshly peeled mangoes, and sweet potatoes and tomatoes were all peeled. This service is also unparalleled! We were a little touched in our hearts, and we really regretted why we only arranged one night in Shaxi. Afterwards, we found out that the gentle woman yesterday was the proprietress. No wonder the whole homestay exudes refinement and comfort, and even the aunt is so soft-spoken and polite. The transportation of the homestay is very convenient, there is a parking lot next to it, and it takes only a few minutes to walk to the center of the ancient town. The housekeeper also recommended us delicious and fun places, which is so considerate. Thank you Wuliu Xinsu for leaving us a precious memory🌹

This is one of the best places we have ever stayed! The rooms are spacious, beautiful and clean, with good sized bathrooms. The courtyard is a peaceful and relaxing place. The breakfast is also filling and well prepared. The boss was the most helpful and accommodating host and went out of his way to make our stay comfortable and to arrange transport for our sight seeing and onward journey. We even shared some tea in the evening, getting to know each other better. The location is also perfect, close to the centre of the magical ancient town. Myself and my partner cannot recommend this guesthouse enough! If you no visit Shaxi, you must stay here!

The hotel is located next to Nanzhai Gate. The ancient town is not very convenient to go anywhere. The boss is super good. Check in and check out to pick us up. The room was clean, the breakfast was delicious, and I had a great time in Shaxi. The only regret is that the room is a bit cold and the air conditioning heating efficiency is slightly lower. But in general it is still not hidden!

The innkeeper's family is very welcoming. The inn is not in Shaxi Ancient Town, but it is very close. It takes only seven or eight minutes to walk to the ancient town. Cars cannot enter the ancient town. If you live in the ancient town, it is too difficult to pull the luggage on the stone road, and the wheels will break. Xishui Villa is right next to the highway. The inn has a parking lot, which is very convenient for entry and exit. The inn has an elegant environment and garden layout. There are coffee tables and chairs in the corridor, and there is a platform on the roof where you can sit for air defense and chat. There is a rooftop for drying clothes on the roof. This rooftop also has a glass plate, so clothes will not get wet even if it rains. This is our favorite. The clothes washed that night were dry the next morning. There is also breakfast made by the owner's family, and it is different every day. Today we ate fried noodles + eggs + sweet potatoes, which tasted good. The slippers in the room are disinfected and packed in bags... Warmth can be seen everywhere.

Shaxi Yishu Inn is next to the Internet-famous ancient tree where people take photos and check in. It is full of vitality and popularity. The location is easy to find. It is a pleasant, comfortable, quiet and childlike inn with a beautiful, spacious and bright courtyard full of pomegranate and pear fruit trees and green plants. We are four adults and two children. We are lucky to catch up with the mushroom picking season. We can ask the owner for the contact information of locals to take mushroom picking in the mountains and experience the fun of picking fresh mushrooms. The comfortable outdoor area allows you to enjoy the environment and weather, as well as local food and snacks. From the roof at the top, you can overlook the beautiful scenery of the town. The location is great, in a quiet area, the room is very comfortable, very quiet at night and the temperature is suitable. The sleep quality is super good after walking around during the day, and there is also the music of crickets. The facilities are complete, the friendly inn staff are also very tolerant of our two naughty children, and the communication is intimate. The hall is open with a screen TV, gathering big and small friends who watch cartoons. The breakfast in the morning is varied, with local sweet corn, hot and sour pork shreds, eight-treasure porridge, fried dough sticks, boiled eggs, etc. This inn is highly recommended. You can walk to the ancient town, where there are Yujin Bridge, various shops, local restaurants, sunflower fields and ecological ducks, horseback riding, small bridges and flowing water, barefoot paddling in the water, drinking freshly squeezed goat milk, local green and purple grapes, unwaxed sweet and sour apples. There are large blooming sunflower plates everywhere - it's really beautiful! Finally, I took away the fresh charcoal-grilled white cakes, flower cakes, ham cakes, restaurant-dried large bacon, and fresh mushrooms packaged by SF Express from Shaxi Ancient Town. This trip was very pleasant, and I will come again with my family next time!

As soon as you enter the main entrance, the layout of the bonsai in the courtyard can be seen that the owner is extremely cherished! The boss especially emphasizes that everyone should take care of the children. The implication is not to destroy the potted plants haha 😄! The room is spacious and very clean! Especially there is an oversized balcony to dry clothes, we have a wave of people to wash out the ones that have not been washed a few days ago! Comfortable!

To start with, Shaxi is such a precious jewel. The historic preservation collaboration between ETH and Chinese scholars and the locals is impressive. The harmony formed by the nature and the man-made environment is incredible. We wish we had more time to stay and dive deeper. And we absolutely loved our stay at the Flower Inn. It’s really close to the core of the town yet very quiet and peaceful. The garden is meticulously cared for. The most special is an impressive 2-story library housing the owners’ personal book collections. They recently opened the library to the community a few days a week - a generous way to share knowledge and wisdom, and bring the community closer together. The owners are very warm, interested in making friends and sharing their experience. I really enjoyed an evening chat with them and listening to the stories about the town’s history, preservation, local lifestyles and much more. We would love to come back to Shaxi in the future and stay at the Flower Inn again.

The small courtyard is in a good location. In the ancient city, it is an old house remodeled. It is very peaceful. The bedding is comfortable and quality. The living is very comfortable. In the morning, the beautiful proprietress also made rice noodles, which is not bad. Close to Wangji jelly, Wangji jelly snacks are very good. We were eating when the boss was eating, saying that he got up at 4 am every day to make chicken bean jelly, and sold out in the afternoon. He also told us that the soup of rice noodles should be drunk. It was made of big bones. His hand cut rice noodles, wontons, beef patties, and thin bean noodles are all delicious.

Due to the schedule, I only stayed in Xilinyuan for less than a day. The overall experience was great. I was very glad to live in the same room as the goddess. The hot pot for dinner was also very delicious. I also saw the most beautiful night sky of this trip. The most impressive thing is the warm and simple waiters here. Most of them are from Shilong Village opposite. Thanks to Jiajia for taking us to pick pine needles and make handicrafts. She took us to visit the village the next day. The wonderful explanation gave us a deeper experience of this place. The elderly and children were very happy. I especially like the smart and cute Jiajia. 🫰There are also the luggage movers, receptionists and restaurant service staff whose names I can't remember. They are all very nice. If the hotel can improve the minibar and breakfast, it will be more perfect (not complaining, I really hope Xilinyuan can do better)
