The only sticking point on this hotel stay was reservations needed for breakfast - despite the restaurant being empty, I was asked to go to the Holly’s Bakery instead. Otherwise, a great location and stay.

Hotel location is superb - right smack in the middle of all those short hanok houses, giving a wonderful and fabulous hanok view as promised by the room. Why go to expensive rooftop cafes to get the view when you can just wake up to it??
An excellent and cost-effective place to stay if you want to be near all the hanok attractions but don't want to sleep on thin tatami mats on the hard wooden floors!

The room was clean and spacious, which was nice:)
It was nice that there were two bottles of water and juice in the amenities and drinks,
and the sandwiches served for breakfast were delicious:)
The front desk staff were also very kind, and when I lost something, they called me directly and helped me find it. Thank you:)

The hotel host was friendly and thank you for preparing the welcome fruit carefully
The location was close to the street and cleanliness was satisfactory
The flower garden and plants in Hanok were carefully maintained, so the atmosphere was good, there was a space to eat breakfast, there was bread, jam, juice, yogurt, milk, etc. in the refrigerator, and you can eat coffee, but it's self-service.
Most of them were satisfied, but the room was smaller than I thought, so it was uncomfortable to move next to it for a while.
It was unpleasant to guide a room completely different from the picture ㅜㅜ

It's located in the center, so it's great for walking around. The service was friendly, needless to say. I booked at the lowest price on Trip.com and had a great time. My daughter and I went there, and there were many delicious restaurants nearby, so it was easy to get around. The first day, we couldn't park, so they let us use a nearby parking lot for free, and the second day, we parked in the basement of the hotel. It was really clean, spacious, and nice. The room was a double bed room with an ondol floor, and it had everything we needed, and it was comfortable. It was a cold day, so I turned off the heating and slept for two days. It was a bit dry, so I thought I should bring a portable humidifier next time. I only booked the room, and breakfast was 27,000 won including tax and service charge. I don't know if the price sometimes changes, but I heard on the internet that it was 30,000 won, excluding tax and service charge. There are so many delicious things in Jeonju that 2 nights and 3 days were not enough. The famous bean sprout soup restaurant is right next door, but I regret not being able to eat there.
Taejogung is a Jeonju Hanok Hotel designed to commemorate the achievements of Taejo Lee Seong-gye, the founder of Joseon and the founder of the nation. Taejogung uses traditional Hanok techniques such as the basic frame and exterior, and uses friendly materials such as wood, Korean paper, and yellow clay flooring to combine the traditional old appearance with the modern, allowing you to feel the Korean sentiment. There is a cafe on the first floor, where you can enjoy various drinks and snacks. It is located a 15-minute walk from Jeonju Hanok Village, and has good access to Jeonju's major tourist attractions.

It is close to Hanok Village and Nambu Market, and there are many details that were carefully considered, such as the rafter ceiling, expensive furniture, and ink painting frames.
However, there is no space to park in the hotel building (even in front of the lobby, there are parking violation cameras that stretch out like traffic lights, monitoring the roads in all directions), so if you go without knowing about the partner company, 'Shinseong Parking Lot', it will be difficult to check in. It is very disappointing that even though the reservation has been confirmed, they do not send a text message with instructions on the parking lot location, etc.

There is also a kids pool, so I had fun playing with my nephew.
There are various events such as review events and coffee coupons.
It was even better!
The room was clean and comfortable.
Next time I come to Jeonju, I think I will choose to stay here.

I had a very satisfying experience at a hotel I recently visited. First of all, the check-in process was quick and easy, and the staff was friendly and professional. I was impressed by their considerate attitude toward customers.
The room was spacious and clean, and the bedding was very comfortable, so I was able to rest well. The bathroom was clean, and the amenities were all I needed. The Wi-Fi speed was fast, so I had no problems working or watching videos.
The breakfast buffet had a variety of menus and was fresh, and the food tasted great. The swimming pool and gym were cleanly maintained, so I felt comfortable the whole time I was there. The hotel was also close to major tourist attractions, so it was convenient to get around.
However, the soundproofing was a bit disappointing, so I could hear a little noise from the next room, and there was a little noise when the air conditioner was running. If only these aspects were improved, it would be a perfect stay.
Overall, I had a comfortable and satisfying time, and it was a hotel I would like to visit again.

Outstanding
WWuReally love their service and how kind they are! Mr Choi was already waiting outside at 3pm when I arrived in my Uber. He passionately introduced me to the nearby attractions and recommended food places to eat. He was there when I reach back at the place at night and also in the morning when I leave the place, he will let you know when he will be away just in case you want to look for him. He always asked if the room is too cold, making sure you feel warm on cool winter nights.
Really recommend especially when everything is walking distance away and the owner is really nice ☺️
GGuest UserPlus points
- good location
- cheap
- very clean
- owner is very kind
Minus
- the wall is not soundproof so you can easily heard other guest walking or talking. But it’s nothing with the price given.
I always experience self-check in in Korea, however the owner has given details instructions so it is easy. Definitely will come back here again
AAngelineGreat Hanok to stay for our short trip. Owners were great and even upgraded our room to bigger room without us requesting for it. Very clean and cozy place with heated floor. Owner allowed us to leave our luggage at their place for later collection so we could roam around for more yummy food and shopping with the hassle of carrying them around. Hanok is at the heart of the main tourist area. A lot of food options and cafe within minutes out of the Hanok. Great experience and thank you for the wonderful hospitality!!! 🥰🥰😍😍👏👏👏
GGuest UserI met a friend I met during my foreign trip for the second time in Jeonju after Gurye. I booked a guesthouse after reviews and thought it was good to do it.
Friendly boss and wife ................ It was a short journey of 2 days and 1 night, but I was comfortable and well. Thank you.
If you have something to go next time, I think I will find it again ... Always be healthy and prosperous.
AAlyThe place is relatively clean although there are mosquitoes inside the room so you gotta spray the mosquito spray so that it wont bite you when u sleep xD Location wise is pretty good in a sense that it is near attractions, church, and the hanok village. Its just that at night its pretty dark so if youre a girl alone, best not to stay up until late. The reception was really nice and friendly, he made me feel welcomed! Amenities are also not bad, all the necessities are covered and the soap smells vv nice xD (pls dont mind the bed in the second picture… haha thats when i left but it was rly neat when i went.)
GGuest UserIt is a very clean hotel where you can stay.
Comfort and cleanliness are better than interior design~^^
The downside is that it is not soundproofed, just like old apar**ents are not soundproofed.
Those with sensitive skin may be a bit concerned, but it is difficult to find a hotel with this kind of cost-effectiveness.
I am also quite picky when it comes to choosing hotels, but I would like to give this place the highest score.
BBeau BonitaUnsure about the location as it was my first time because it take about 30mins from place to place by bus. Easy travel by bus to hotel by walk to the station in 3mins across street from Jeonju station. Big room, clean and including drying clothes closet. Unfortunately, the location is in the center of karaoke and nightlife for men, but still safe. Hope there will have a chain hotel in the center of shopping or city.
CChun YangWe can walk down short flight of stairs to the house from the main road but don't get any traffic noise. Location was within the Hanok Village area making it easy to explore. The place was kind of old, the room we had was very small. The double futon mattress on the floor took a large chunk of the space, without folding the mattress there wasn't much space to sit around. Maybe that's how it is supposed to work. There was a aircon (not plugged in), another looks like aircon (doesn't work) and a look like heater was stowed away, we don't know whether they were mend to be used. Anyway that did not bothered us much. Wi-fi was available in the room. We only met the lady in-charge on check-in and thereafter on our own. Overall a doable stay, a place to rest and sleep.
