Marriott Louisville East

Booked thru trip.com. No option to add breakfast. So I had to pay for breakfast for 6 people. Cost me an additional $60. Breakfast was terrible. They were out of scrambled eggs, pancake syrup was watery. Server could barely understand and speak English. Last time I will book thru Trip.com.

Perfect hotel for a stop on a road trip. Pool was big enough for the kids to splash around. Rooms were clean with new tvs. Awesome bourbon bar/restaurant with fantastic selection and very good food. No need to leave and venture around the area, they had everything you need. Staff were also super friendly. Can’t wait to visit again! Only about 15min from downtown Louisville.

Same issue as the rest. Had a room reserved and paid for the '26 Kentucky Derby. Received an email that the reservation was cancelled due to a "security issue". Real bush league crap. To make it worse, I was never offered the new "security issue free" rate. They just cancelled the reservation.

I booked two rooms at Louisville Marriott East for the 2026 Kentucky Derby through the official Marriott Bonvoy app—confirmed and paid. Weeks later, I received an email from the hotel’s GM stating the rate “would not be honored” because it was too low and they were canceling my reservation. No apology. No alternative. Just a demand to rebook at eight times the original rate. Multiple follow-ups with both the GM and Marriott corporate led nowhere. Corporate acknowledged it wasn’t a capacity issue—but still refused to back the reservation guarantee, claiming it only applies if you’re physically at the hotel when they screw you over. What’s the point of a confirmation if it means nothing? The GM clearly didn’t realize they had listed the property during Derby weekend, and instead of owning the mistake, they chose price gouging over integrity. This behavior is shameful and reflects terribly on the Marriott brand. Avoid this hotel like the plague during major events. If they can cancel confirmed reservations without consequence, your booking means nothing.

This place was perfect. Let me begin with the staff. The greeting I received from the chef was tremendous. His name was Steve Neblett and I was there for a breakfast meeting with Herbert Book McCray. The hotel area was super clean, restrooms as well. There were two people that provided excellent Sunday brunch service and I did not get their names. What I remember about them most was the lady was from Cuba and the gentleman was from India. The customer service I received was second to none. Mr Neblett went over and beyond to make sure our food was cooked to order and delivering the food to our table after preparations Mr. McCray wanted to make sure his next stay would be at this hotel seeing that he frequents Louisville often. I wanted to thank management personally but was informed they were not available at the time. This was my reason for at least writing the review..
