Review: 5-Star Hotel Stay – Mixed Experience. I recently stayed at this 5-star hotel Aug 2025, which, despite its grandeur, is showing its age at nearly a decade old. The property retains an elegant charm, but certain aspects left me with mixed feelings. Room and Cleanliness: The room was impressively spacious, a highlight of the stay, with a bit old decor and ample space to relax. However, the cleanliness was average at best. While the surfaces appeared tidy, there were noticeable signs of wear, and the pervasive smell of cigarette smoke was a major downside. I had specifically requested a non-smoking room through Trip.com and reiterated this during check-in, but was informed that no non-smoking rooms were available. As a gesture, the staff upgraded me to a higher-tier room, which I appreciated, but the cigarette odor was still strong, lingering in both the room and the hotel corridors. This was particularly disappointing for a 5-star property. Service Issue: To address the smoke smell, I called room service to request an air freshener. After waiting 30 minutes with no delivery, I had to call again. The second time, the staff promptly delivered it, which helped slightly, but the experience felt inconsistent with the hotel’s luxury branding. Amenities: On a positive note, the breakfast was exceptional—diverse, mix of local and International cuisine. The swimming pool was another highlight, well-maintained, and a relaxing spot to unwind with an indoor and outdoor scenic view. Overall: While the spacious rooms, fantastic breakfast, and nice pool were highlights, the cigarette smell and inconsistent service detracted from the experience. For a 5-star hotel, I expected better attention to cleanliness and guest requests. I’d recommend this hotel for its amenities but urge management to address the smoking issue and improve service responsiveness to truly meet 5-star standards. Rating: 3.5/5

I booked this hotel because of its high ratings and its location near the old town. The cleanliness and service were good. However, please note: the room was extremely small, the window was sealed, towels were not provided, only two bath towels were given, and I had to use a corner of one to wash my face. There was no breakfast, no table or chairs, so I had to make do on the bed if I wanted to work. Also, the hotel's electrical outlets were Indonesian standard; travelers from China must bring an adapter, as the hotel didn't provide one. I had to repeatedly communicate with the front desk staff before they finally unplugged an adapter from one of their devices for me to use. Perhaps it's a difference in customs and lifestyles between the two countries; locals might find it normal, but it's difficult for us travelers, especially business travelers, to get used to. Objectively speaking, the service and cleanliness were good, and I appreciate the staff's warm service.

I stayed here for just one night as a quick change of scenery, and overall, it was a pleasant experience. I was given a room on the 21st floor, which offered a nice view and a quiet atmosphere. The breakfast was decent — buffet style, with a good enough variety for a short stay. Nothing too fancy, but it did the job. The pool isn’t huge, but it’s enough to relax and cool off, especially if you’re not looking for anything too fancy. A solid option for a short stay in central Jakarta. The only downside was the air conditioning — it seems outdated and didn’t cool the room properly at all.

Check in was fast & staff were very friendly towards us. room was ok for 2 pax as we didn’t had big luggages so there’s sufficient space for us to walk about. bed was comfortable!

In an old district, but the hotel was surprising clean and new looking. Very comfortable bed and pillows!

Good facility enjoyed my stay all good, good spread of breakfast used restaurant as well others in proximity. Impressed with service of staff.9

Upon check in, we got a room which was located on 6th floor. Inside the room, there was no bath towel and we had to (literally) beg for bath towels. The towels made to our rooms after half an hour. We also found dead cockroach inside our room. The tv show a mirror view. There are a lot of things need to be fixed in this hotel. Its a sinking ship in my opinion. Too bad, because the location is very strategic.

Located at 15min walk from Kota station, but you can take bus way to go here just next to the bus stop. With own GYM, pool, SPA and restaurant, although the hotel is a little bit old aged, it is really nice to stay here, with happy good services. You can find more foods from China town nearby. Not bad hotel. I like the breakfast services. It is big place and with sufficient foods available to serve us.
