I called a week before my scheduled check in to ask them to make sure I was in quiet room in which I could sleep after a long flight. I also reminded them at check in. They ended up putting me on the Collision Center Side of the building where at 7am loud mechanic noises were waking me up! Also note the AC compressor went on and over LOUDLY all night & the fan in the bathroom was noisy and on a sensor that also went off. The smoke alarm in room 308 had a dead battery that chirped on top of all that. I had booked multiple nights and asked to leave and be refunded for the rest of the nights. They let me know that the $99 dollar rate I booked would be charged to there "Normal Rate" of $157.77 I was too tired too argue and hadn't slept in 2 days. On top of all that I am POSITIVE I left behind my black jacket in a delirious insomnia state. When I called multiple times to retrieve it they told me it was not there. I hope this experience informs others. There are many better hotels including Marriot, Comfort Suites etc... This is a disgrace to IHG. I thought they had standards, but being shiesty and poor customer service takes precedence.

I am a platinum member thanks to my credit card, which I have kept so far for the anniversary night despite the annual fee. Earlier this month I made a reservation with my anniversary night for candlewood suites in Jacksonville for one night. After arriving to the hotel we noticed roaches in the room. We asked for a new room and they gave us one on a different floor on the other side of the hotel, and this one also had roaches. Seeing this, we decided to book a different hotel through IHG for 21,000 points and even though it took us an hour to get there due to stormy weather, it ultimately brought us closer to the airport so at the time I thought it was worth the drive. I set up a claim that night, and was calling back every few days to check on the status, but then Christmas activities started happening and I just got around to calling back now. I got hung up on twice, and spent about 2 hours total on the phone to be told 15,000 points is the maximum they can give me for the inconvenience. This puts me out the anniversary night, which is the only reason for keeping the card, 6,000 points, the time and gas it took to get to and from the hotel, and the 2 hours of frustration. Picture is of roaches we found in the second room after several had already scattered. They are kind of blurry since they were small roaches, but the bf has a picture of a trap that is filled with them.

This one is neat and clean. Its on a blvd that goes to a navy base so if you wanted to be near a lot of eateries and shops you might not want this one. But its a good property and a 10 min drive will get you close to 1A1 and all the stuff on that route. I would stay here again if I was on business in Jax.

Facility well run, excellent facility accommodations. As a business traveler only negative was not having even minimal daily service for the room. Facility does not offer breakfast service however, the Holiday Inn Express, across the street is owned by same as Candlewood, so its daily Breakfast service is available to Candlewood guests as well. This made it very convenient. Would certainly recommend.

I had to stay here for 13 nights. I looked at all 4 hotels that are on Mayport road. Cost wasn’t an option so I wanted the nicest place. They were all 2.5 star hotels. This one was the cheapest, but had the highest reviews so I went with it. Glad I did. Very comfortable rooms. Bed and pillows good. Bathroom laid out nice. Big desk that I used multiple times to work on stuff from my computer. Good WiFi. My favorite item was that the room actually had a Recliner to sit in since I was spending about 15 hours a day in the room. About 55 cable channels including several premiums. Fully stocked kitchen and full size fridge. Very friendly and accommodating staff. Hotel did have a few shady looking people hanging around but I guess you could have that anywhere and didn’t offer any kind of breakfast but does have coffee available. I would highly recommend this hotel to anyone staying more than 3 nights and will definitely stay here again if I’m back here for work in the future.

After making reservation and arriving after a long travel day, I was told the room I reserved was sold to someone else. I was offered a roll away bed instead of a room with two queens. Um. NO thank you. To the credit of the property manager, they own the property across the street, the Holiday Inn Express. The manager of that hotel accepted the reservation and did not upcharge for a change in reservation or location.
