Hilton Garden Inn is one of my favorite chain hotels. They are always just a step above the competition. Be that the decor, the freshness of the rooms, the amenities, or the fitness/pool situation, they just have it right. But something is wrong with this particular Garden Inn in my estimation. Firstly, the price for the night I was there was the most expensive I've ever had; nearly $250 total. But because it's my favorite chain, and I expect awesomeness, I booked anyway. What I found was the hotel is a bit beat up, a bit dirty, and a bit understaffed. The day/night I was there the chef either got sick, had a meltdown, or didn't show (not sure), but the staff seemed unable, untrained, or unwilling to meet the needs of the guests. I asked the bartender/waiter/busboy (why?) for a beer and he said, "I can't right now, I've got to get through this." (pointing to a pile of checks he had to administer). I saw that he was in the weeds, let it go, but felt for $250/night it needed to be better. I will say that the front desk staff was great. A woman named Kim was delightful, and a woman named Debbie seemed caring and calm. My review is based on the two days/nights I was there. It's entirely possible that they were just having a bad week. But it's the only two days/nights I've ever been there, so...

Very nice place to stay. We just had a quick over night visit but the facility was very clean. The staff was very friendly and helpful. Hotel was conveniently located with many food options within walking distance or a short drive. I used to prefer Holiday Inn Express but have switched exclusively to Hilton properties. Much better experience for about the same amount of money.

Very loud during the night. Called the front desk couple of times. Not very friendly morning crew with check out or at breakfast. Will not stay there again.
