Inn at Jackson

This is a nice spot for some quiet time together. The breakfasts were lovely, as was the staff. We booked late on a very busy weekend and ended up with the room over the kitchen and the outside porch. The air conditioner covered most of the noise. There were a lot of stairs involved, no elevator. I would go back, but would certainly request a different room.

We booked a few days in July 2025 because we had such a nice time 6 years ago. It was as a cute, lively b&b with an amazing breakfast. Times have changed. I read it got sold a few years ago. In a nutshell, the innkeeper is absent, there is no housekeeping during your stay and the place could use some upkeep. While we were there the place seemed deserted. No one ever at the front desk or anywhere. We met a couple guests in passing. They thought this was odd too. We had a private porch but didn’t use due to the amt of bird poop on the railings and chair and dead leaves no one swept. No housekeeping is ok if staying 1-2 days but beyond that is not so nice having to find clean towels and having dirty towels heaped on the floor. Another peeve, the sand in the parking lot gets dragged into the lobby and your room. Not worth the $$.

Our stay included: very annoyingly crooked floors, a very hot and musty smelling room with no visible air conditioning (not as advertised), we went to open the windows to find broken sash cords and cracks in two of the windows, the room was in need of maintenance (paint, a deep clean and a musty smell) and, the bed needed a step stool to get in... once in, it was bouncy and unlevel! If you have any electronic devices, there were not enough receptacles. The bathroom included a sink that was loose from the wall and it’s base and a toilet seat that moved! The wall paper was peeling in multiple places... The flat screen TV was only about 20” and too far from the bed to see! Our kicker was when we tried to check in (3:00pm) there was no staff, no manager on duty and we found an envelope on the counter with our name on it. I walked around the hotel calling “hello” and found no one! I called the front desk to no answer but left a voice message which was not returned including 12 hours later. We left for an hour’s drive before opening our room door and when we returned at 4:00pm there was still no staff! I took the key to find our room.... and I opened the wrong hotel door (MY ERROR), and I mistakenly went to the wrong room.... My key opened not only my assigned room but, another room as well. (We did not feel safe after this.) As the room I entered was clearly occupied, I hurriedly shut the door and proceeded to the “right room.” My wife and I checked out the next morning leaving a note of dissatisfaction. The manager / owner called us later and did give us a refund.

The Inn at Jackson is a very cute and old school B&B. This is our 2nd stay here and we will come again. We enjoy the location and views from the Inn. Jackson falls is just around the corner, beautiful even in the in between season, April. Great breakfast, fast and hot! The only negative was the shower. We were on the top floor, so maybe that’s why it took forever to get hot water and then the show didn’t regulate hot and cold. Basically all hot or all cold. Obviously it won’t stop us from coming again, just an FYI. Love this place and the beauty around it!
