Avra Beach Resort

Lovely hotel with good food/drinks. I came as a young solo female traveller and was made to feel very comfortable by everyone at the hotel and even got an upgraded room on the highest floor which felt very safe. Would definitely come back.

We only stayed here a few days just so the husband could recouparate. This place is very well positioned about 10 minutes from the Airport. It is very well kept, it looks really nice , I think we were in the old part but was still nice and very clean. The kids club was extremely good they had quite a few different things on simultaneously for the kids to choose from. The pool were okay, but the sea was right there so I choose the sea as it was warmer. The sun loungers in this area were so comfy trendy and new. The bar area was really nice all the drinks were amazing really good quality and the cocktails were delicious all the soft drinks were proper makes also you had access to water out of the water cooler 24/7. Also there was a snack fridge to bridge the gap in the night basically with sandwiches fruit and other stuff. They had a snack hut that had so much choice also a pizza and pasta place a gyros place and the main part of the restaurant, here the staff and service was way above a 4 star , they were amazing paid attention to every detail. The food quality and choice was great. I really would love to go back here and spend more time here and under different circumstances. I would definitely recommend it I feel this is definitely more a 5 🌟 than the 4 they have. I came to this conclusion after I only just stayed in another resort and the comparison were huge considering they were both 4 stars. The only small downside I would say the kids pool is for toddlers so my kids went in the bigger pool, I m not a pool person so the sea for me was divine. Also another small thing that bothered me was at the reception when asking staff stuff they would consult themselves in their own language whilst I was there waiting for an answer which I feel is not very cordial, and I am a multi language speaker myself. All in all this was a great place

This hotel is large but makes you feel like you are in a small family hotel. The pool is a nice size and the beach is literally on the doorstep so you have choice to make. Rooms - We booked a standard family room which was in the old black. We actually viewed both new and old and chose to stay in the new at a cost (think it was £120 for the week) The room was modern and clean, the shower was like a jet wash which was lovely after being in the pool and sweating all day. Food and Drink: Food was very nice. Every night was a theme but our favourite was Asia night. Very nice! Drinks were good too but after a while the cocktails do taste very sweet. Now let me say the lovely man and women at the bar (the man had awesome bright glasses, love them) never held back on the measures which is great. I am sure most the time I had more vodka then coke but I just topped it up at the snack bar (not a complaint by the way). Snack bars: During the day you can have all the Gyros you can eat. Love it. They also have an Italian which again was very nice. The little snack bar by the pool was good, ice cream, fresh waffles etc. Very lovely. The only issue is the snacks on the evening. Please serve something better than grey chicken nuggets and fried aubergine battered things and cheese cobs. Not nice at all. Maybe a little greek food or pizza slices. Location: Not too sure why people say the location is great as there is literally nothing outside of the hotel without getting a taxi. We took a walk and if you turn right there a few shops but nothing to shout about. Nice big supermarket 5 mins away to get some greek cider. If you turn left and walk for about ten mins, you find some restraunts and shops but again not a hustle and bustle area. You can pay to use a mini bus service to go into Rhodes old town which is a must. Beautiful place and takes about 20 mins to get there. We took a trip to the water park which I will review separately and the hotel kindly booked our taxi. Entertainment: The team work hard all day and night. We loved the music and dancing on the bridge in the morning. (Love the song and it will stay with us forever - Metro Antistrofa 5 4 3 2 1) I took part in water polo a few times which was fun. They have all sorts on during the days for kids and adults. The evening shows were great. Had some laughs. The one thing I would have liked is once the entertainment was over (2230ish) is that they just put some music on so you can just relax and have another drink. Seemed like once the evening entertainment was done everyone went. Overall - if you want to chill and stay on site, its great. If like things to do on your doorstep you might need to go to a more busier area. I would stay here again as we did have a nice relaxing break and enjoyed the surroundings.

The weather was great,the room was great the rest wasn’t the best, We decided to go in November for the last week of the season but didn’t enjoy it,we felt like the staff just wanted the season to finish and we were a distraction, For the first couple of nights the outside bar was open where we love spending our nights with the amazing staff,unfortunately this closed and we had to use the main bar,the weather was good so they could have kept this open,lots of staff were finished before the end of the season,the staff are the life and sole of the hotel and it was disappointing they weren’t there for our stay as we love them,as it was the last week no one seemed bothered,we weren’t treated like we normally are,it was a very strange experience not like we are used to,everyone looked tired and not bothered, The restaurant food was mediocre at best,as it was the last week they weee using up what was left,the bread was stale,you should buy fresh bread whatever it’s not expensive,there was onion soup one day then 2 days later,it was like they weee using up whatever was left, There was nothing put on for us through the day like the cocktails/frappes etc that guests throughout the year enjoy,the animation team was shocking they don’t interact like ones have in the past and the evening entertainment was not the best, AVRA has been our favourite place for a few years now going 2/3 even 4 times a year but this time we didn’t have a good experience, Will we be returning? I would say yes but not this time of year, All in all we came away disappointed,please treat all guests the same all year round, Hopefully we get the experience we have come to enjoy next time we are there

Where do I start? A very bad experience at AVRA beach, Some of the staff are good but others look after repeat guests,one manager Billy kept giving premium bottles to a regular guest Matt which was unfair, There was nothing put on for us like they do during peak season only mediocre entertainment,none of the cocktail days etc, Now to the worst part of the holiday,a lot of guests were very ill so much so that some weren’t allowed to fly home so their family had to leave them,asking what caused it we believe it was the outside Italian/Greek restaurant,it was not good,also there were lots of guests with multiple bites on them no idea if they weee bed bugs or Mosquito bites but looked horrid, Would we return,definitely not at the end of the season,please treat guests the same all year round and please no favouritism,we may return we will see
