Let's go to Izu to soak in hot springs! From Tokyo, transfer to JR Tokaido Line (towards Atami) at Shinbashi Station and get off at Atami Station/then transfer to Izu Kogen Station. Note: Get off the train at Atami Station and walk to the transfer platform according to the sign. The whole journey takes about 2 hours and 40 minutes (including transfers) Hotels of a certain size in Izu have shuttle buses to the station to pick up tourists. Kira also has this service. Although the hotel is very close to the station, it is a mountain road up and down the hill, so you must take the hotel's car! Usually hot spring hotels provide dinner on the same day. I chose the local specialty golden sea bream hot pot. The next day's breakfast can be Japanese or Western. You can choose one of the two. The Japanese one is more beautiful. The bathrobes are very thoughtful for tourists! It's easy to get hungry when soaking in hot springs. The hotel has prepared grilled spring bamboo shoots and baked potatoes, as well as Yakult and milk ice cream. You can eat whatever you want. After 10 o'clock in the evening, the hotel provides Japanese soup noodles as a midnight snack, which is very considerate! The room I booked has a sea view. The sea view with clear sky in the morning is very healing!

Я ранее не был в традиционном рёкане, не могу сравнивать как в других местах, но честно говоря от номера ожидал большего. Номер уставший, возможно я не ценю традиции, но я бы хотел более современное оснащение. Говоря об удобствах - есть трансфер от станции, бесплатный. Если развлечения для детей, есть приватные ванны, есть 8 публичных ванн. Кормят вкусно, но хотелось бы заранее при выборе понимать что включает в себя Japanese/Western ужин и завтрак. Мы брали 2 рыбных ужина и 2 рыбных завтрака. В следующий раз я бы выбрал Western завтрак, потому что к сожалению мне пришелся не по вкусу Japanese. Отель рекомендую и вернусь сюда ещё раз!

The room is big and quiet. We booked a one night stay with two meals. The second group of dinner starts at 7:30 pm. We asked Ctrip before and the hotel said that we can enter before 8:30. We entered at about 7:38 and were told that we came too late and could only eat the seafood set meal. The Kaiseki cuisine was no longer available. There were 4 of us in our group. We were all going to choose Kaiseki cuisine, and one of us couldn't eat seafood. After some communication, we were finally given 4 portions of seafood and 1 person was given 4 slices of beef (the price seemed to be 2000+ yen. As a result, the person ate 4 slices of beef and a few slices of boiled fish in one dinner. The hotel also said that he ate seafood. It seems like we are blackmailing him. Why doesn't the hotel think about it? They were the ones who breached the contract first and did not inform us in advance that we had to arrive early, otherwise there would be no choice. Ctrip communicated many times and the hotel did not apologize at all. I am speechless about the hotel's service concept. Everyone choose carefully
