It's in a great location, near to Sishane metro station and Beyoglu funicular station, and lots of shops and eateries. Only problem is that it's almost impossible to find as there isn't any signboard at the entrance. Even the shop owner of the shop right next door (La Fa Muzik) didn't know of the existence of "Hug Galata".
It was only when someone helped us to call the phone number on the booking confirmation slip that we were able to find the door and were given the code to unlock it.
Then to our horror we saw the narrow spiral stairs that we had to climb up with all our luggage! We were told to take the apartment on the 3rd floor but we asked for the one on the 1st floor as I had injured my knee earlier. Thankfully it wasn't occupied so we only had to climb 1 level up.
The apartment is small but comfortable. However, it was lacking in shelves and hooks especially in the shower where there's nowhere to hang clothes and towel or even to place toiletries. There's also no handle on the inside of the toilet sliding door so it was tricky to open it each time.
There wasn't any VIP service, we had to ask questions via WhatsApp throughout our stay. When the shampoo ran out and we asked for more, someone brought a plastic bag and hung it on the door but it was filled with shower gel instead of shampoo.
The water boiler is noisy so we turned it off at night. Also be prepared for the noise from the nightlife downstairs, something you'd have to bear with for the sake of the convenient location.
