The superior location of the hotel was convenient for us to visit Sky Island, but the hotel was just a bit backward and old. First, the door to the entrance was broken and had to be opened when the hotel used the universal... When checking out, the waiter's information was confused and said he would debit the credit card, then said the system problem could not debit the credit card and asked us to transfer separately Paying the room fee made us pay more for the transaction! The overall hotel environment and breakfast was also good.

Horrid little man with the worst manners, from lewd comment re: our 14 yr old daughter *overheard twice) to making excuses why after paying over 600 for 2 rooms they were dirty, not enough towels, unclean, no scottish people to explain anything scottish. Horrid experience overall, then the restaurant shut, and bar area full of smelly dogs. And then the so called supervisors, danny and Celine waffling there way through the excuse of a food offering.. terrible, get scottishness back or you will fold, these people are vampires!

Stopped off at the campsite on our way South and popped in for an evening meal. Service was initially good but was quickly followed by excuses that they were busy so may be a bit slow. Food was great but portions were small and for the price, well below what was expected. We were there for 1 1/2 hrs and only got served one drink. Left before dessert as we had sat for 30min waiting on our dessert order - half of the tables were unoccupied so hardly busy! Pricy but tasty, however the slow service and lack of drinks result in only 3/5 for what was once an iconic and thriving climbers bar.

Booked as a final 3 days of a 9 day Scotland trip, intended as a treat and a highlight to round off the holiday. The main positive is the stunning location, with many other key places being in reasonable reach and the excellent Seamas’ Bar. I have used the bar previously when I wasn’t a resident and although expensive for what it is, the choice of food and drinks left me with no complaints. In terms of the accommodation, the bed was comfortable and the room as a whole was clean, however the carpet was damp, presumably from a recent deep clean. Furnishings and facilities were basic, with a television, a table providing an array of warm drink options and a hanging rail for clothing. The bathroom was pretty tired, with old sanitary ware, which was cracked and mouldy in places. It’s probably not a worthy investment to modernise and tidy up with such a prime location that is guaranteed to get the custom. A minor issue and partly my error for not hanging a ‘do not disturb’ sign. Housekeeping started unlocking my room door, without knocking when I was in a state of undress. Fortunately, I alerted them, before an awkward and embarrassing situation ensued. Don’t make the same mistake I did. In conclusion, this was a great disappointment. I paid £134 a night for the room only, which was significantly cheaper than most of the room options, having booked it in advance on a non-refundable discounted deal. It is hugely overpriced for the standard of the accommodation and clearly capitalises on the pull of the location alone. I will probably return to Seamas’ Bar on my next visit to Isle of Skye but I will never part with such a significant amount of money again for an accommodation of this standard. Lesson learned.

We called in for an evening meal as staying on campsite across the road . We both ordered fish & chips . The only thing hot on the plate was the chips . We weren’t told about the specials only found out when we went to pay . Very disappointing such a shame

On checking in we had to pay upfront. Our confirmed booking for dinner was cancelled due to staff shortage. We could not use the hotel bar and the lounge was in a state of disarray with a broken salt cellar and contents on the carpet. Recent change of management might explain a lot. MUST TRY HARDER
