Hillstone Lodge

This lodge is a hidden gem on the Isle of Skye. The lodge was spotless the hosts Bertie and Janna went out of their way to make us feel welcome. Provided great alternatives for areas to visit that were less busy than the more traditional things found in guide books and the internet. Provided maps and suggested itineraries for the sites we wanted to visit again to avoid the high traffic times. Absolute wealth of knowledge about the area. Everything about the breakfast was exceptional, homemade breads, pastries, fruit compote, oatmeal, granola and that is just the starters, hot items like eggs Benedict, smoked salmon, waffles, bacon etc were also included. Wonderful lounge with a great selection of wines scotches etc that was very welcome after a long day of site seeing.

Hillstone Lodge is a wonderful bed and breakfast, perfect for couples to enjoy a romantic vacation on Scotland's most idyllic isle! The proprietors, Bertie and Jana, bring their extensive hotel experience to make a comfortable and hospitable stay. The highlight of every day for us was breakfast service. Bertie and Jana took extra care to ensure our meal was as delicious and relaxed as possible, complete with fine tableware and locally sourced ingredients. The rooms are equally enjoyable, with high ceilings and a beautiful view of the loch! I highly recommend Hillstone Lodge to any couple visiting Skye!

We had a lovely stay! We stayed at a number of places during our time in Skye and we wished we had spent our whole trip at Hillstone Lodge. Bertie and Jana have long backgrounds in hospitality and it shows - every detail, from the rooms to the breakfast, felt thoughtfully considered. We went on a hike recommended by Bertie that was a highlight of our trip, and we’re still talking about the homemade almond bars Jana had waiting for us on arrival. We hope to be back sooner than later!

We had a truly wonderful stay at Hillstone Lodge on the Isle of Skye! From the moment we arrived, Bertie and Jana gave us the warmest welcome and made us feel completely at home. Their personalized recommendations for exploring the area were incredibly helpful and made our trip extra special. Jana’s baking is simply amazing – every treat was a delight, and breakfast each morning was absolutely delicious, a perfect start to the day. Our room and the bathroom were exceptionally comfortable, with breathtaking views that made it hard to leave! We also loved spotting the local animals nearby. We travelled around Scotland for a month, and Hillstone Lodge was the standout accommodation. We loved our three nights and wished we could have stayed longer. Bertie and Jana’s hospitality is professional and genuine. Special mention of Jana’s home made sourdough bread and wonderful breakfasts. Skye is an amazing place and the lodge is in the perfect location to enjoy the best of Skye. Only a short walk to dinner at Three Chimneys! And as others have noted the view from the lodge is sublime.
