Chandlers is great for a group going away for the weekend beautiful views beautiful house with everything you need for a perfect holiday the facilities are first class and rooms are spotless with great detail to everything and Alison and Andrew went above and beyond for our family and friends and made my wife’s 60th birthday surprise very special

The property was falsely listed as having a bedroom with a king bed, queen bed and sofa bed in one bedroom – this led us to believe we could house all our family members with no issues. Upon arrival the room was not as described and had only a king bed and sofa bed. After finding this, we checked with the owner as to the availability of other areas of the house for rent, to ameliorate this issue, but found they were unavailable. The only solution was to share a cramped bedroom with our kids and move family members around to unideal locations in the house. The house 2 smaller rentals attached to it with access to the main house. Those other rented areas of the house were not mentioned on the rental information and was a surprise upon arrival to discover that we shared the building with other tenants. The rental listing was listed as having a washer and dryer – upon arrival we discovered that there was no dryer which caused much more laundry issues than we planned for on our vacation. There were surveillance cameras in the common areas of the house that were not mentioned in the listing (and honestly felt intrusive and creepy). In addition, everyone who used the hot tub (adults and children) developed a rash caused by a bacteria (“hot tub rash”) due to poor chemical balance. The rash was particularly bad on our youngest child, who we treated with antibiotic and anti-itch creams for a week. The information about the rash and possible chemical issue was provided as a courtesy to the owner upon our departure, who claimed it wasn’t an issue. Subsequent to our stay, the owners filed for a financial claim against us asking for $1,000 (!) to clean a stain. The Isle of Bute is beautiful. The setting of the house is pretty. The house leaves something to be desired, especially for the cost the owners charge. The owners should be avoided. In short, you will be better off finding other accommodations.
