Drop Anchor Resort & Marina

Magical, peaceful, relaxing, accommodating and perfect! Me and my bestie had been planning a Keys trip for 10 years. Set course with my reservations and no plans. Landed at Drop Anchor for 2 days and was blown away. Vintage nostalgic piece of paradise. She and I felt like celebrities! We got in late both night and Daniel the GM answered right away and set us up! I would stay here over and over again!

This is a GREAT “Old Florida Vibe” Hotel with a location and view that cannot be beat! The Manager was excellent and kind. Everything was clean and first rate. Get an oceanfront room with a patio for the best view imaginable. We recommend this Hotel 100%!!!

Came for a night over spring break with my family. The place was easy to find and check in was quick and painless. It appears to be a one woman show, as there was a sign on the door when we arrived at 5 that she was “On property and would return in 15 minutes.” We got our keys, got to our room and initially there were no complaints. The place is older, so it’s showing its age but appeared to be very clean. They could change the bathroom door situation a little as the current bifold closet door for the toilet/shower offers no real sense of privacy There really just needs to be a door on the whole sink/closet/toilet/ shower area. However, my biggest problems arose after winding down for the evening. The cable was out, the smoke alarm started chirping at 3 am and the firmness of the bed kept us all up all night. It’s borderline offensive to charge so much for a room with beds that feel like you’re sleeping on actual plywood. If you like firm mattresses, I guess that’s a net positive. Last thing you should know, while there is an ocean view, there isn’t a zero entry sandy beach, it’s just a dock. It’s a cute little place for the most part, but we won’t be back.

Do yourself a favor, and do not stay here. We arrive late and had to get our key out of a lock box that was locked with a bicycle combination lock. It is clear that one booked through a third-party. You will get the worst room on the place. When we arrived at 8 PM, the door did not lock and unlock properly. But that was just the beginning. Once we got inside, there was a foul smell with an accompanying air freshener that had run out. The bathroom was not clean, and the vanity was falling apart. There was blood behind the toilet. There were bugs Inside the lights. There should have been a Smoke detector, but there was not. The room was minuscule for the amount we paid. A resort fee was charged before we even arrived. When speaking to the property manager, we were told that they could rectify all the problems with the room, and that he realized that the room was extremely small. My question was why wasn’t the room cleaned and set up properly before we arrived. We requested a refund for the nights we were not staying, to no avail. ******* attempted to get our money back, but they too failed. ******* took absolutely no responsibility for representing such a shoddy establishment. Do not stay here. The owner will respond to this and take no responsibility!

Amazing stay from pre checkin to checkout. They easily accommondated a late night check in and the room was great.

I booked a Resort Queen Family Suite with Kitchen. I thought we'd have an ocean view from the photos we saw on *******. We asked, but they said no. The room looked clean, but during the night, a cockroach came out. We couldn't sleep after that. We waited until dawn, and my husband told the front desk, and the response was that it wasn't under their control and that it was Florida. The hotel was expensive. The pool was fine, and the surrounding areas were clean.The experience was not good.
