This is an honest review from a family of 5 plus my daughters cousin came with us this time so 6 in total for this trip. 2 boys aged 7 and 10 and 2 teenagers 16. we have tried different destinations and tried a lot of 5 star hotels. I would definitely say this hotel isn’t 5 star in a lot of aspects. I’ll start from the beginning, we arrived after landing in Cancun from London Gatwick. Airport was very busy, took hour and half for us just to get luggage, longest we have ever experienced with all the places we have been. We flew with tui there and back and drinks were all included in the flights, but on the way out, other than trolley service for drinks that came around twice for 10 hour flight, when me and my husband went up to ask for a drink, we was told no, but we can fill your water bottle up with water! The staff on way over wasn’t very friendly but on the flight home, they were lovely and gave us drinks anytime we asked like we were entitled too! Arrived to hotel to check in, was told we had to pay $200 per room (more than 4 of us so had to have 2 rooms) deposit (wasn’t notified of this when booking) they tried telling me I would of been and I got my confirmation out to show them I hadn’t. So instead they allowed us to pay the tax per room upfront. We was then told we had a free upgrade which was great but rooms where in different parts of hotel even though we pacifically asked for them to be next door to eachother and my friend who has her own travel buisness messaged them 2 weeks before to remind them. Anyway went to the rooms, they were very clean, fridge was stocked with different sodas and alcohol. We arrived late afternoon and was raining heavy so wasn’t much for us to do other than go down to restaurant buffet when opened. The buffet restaurant doesn’t really cater for British people. We did not enjoy the buffet at all during day or evening only breakfast we enjoyed. There wasn’t a lot of choice as I’ve found in a lot of other 5 star resorts. The problem daily was this hotel is so big, it has different star rating even though we paid over 12 grand to go, we were in the lowest rating as they call it (don’t agree with rating at all) and they cannot cater for as many people as they have there, there would be ques to get in buffet for ages. I mean long lines. They have an adult only area, star class area and then ours, so in our opinion they should have a restaurant buffet in them hotels for each one, not 1 buffet for all 3. They just couldn’t keep up with how many people were there. The drinks cups wasn’t the cleanest and could see they needed replacement. I will say the restaurants they have there that you can book into was stunning, food was 5 star in them but definitely not the buffet. We are not fussy eaters either. They were full a lot of days but we were able to try all of them in the 2 weeks we stayed. Going onto pool areas, beds there wasn’t enough to cater again for everyone at hotel! If you didn’t get down at 5/5.30 in m
