Everything about excellence was amazing. The staff is nice and extremely accommodating, the resort its self is clean, the food is pretty good as well. Can’t really think of a bad thing to say.

Though it was our first visit to EPM, we’re veteran Mexico travelers with multiple all-inclusive stays, including Excellence Riviera Cancun previously. We think highly of the Excellence brand and picked EPM because we wanted an ocean front, rooftop pool suite. We’d done the same room category at ERC and loved it, but were plagued by apocalyptic sargassum during that trip. I believed (though I know better now) that EPM was shielded from sargassum by Isla Mujeres. If you don’t want to read any further, we wholeheartedly endorse EPM. They are getting way more right than wrong and operating at very high levels, with only a few minor issues to be critical of. Overall, 8/10. Arrival/Check in: Depending on traffic, it’s a 40ish minute ride from the airport. Because we booked through EPM, we received the complimentary private transfer from Seasons Tours. It was easy to book through the email and the service was fantastic. Large, comfortable, black, late model SUVs with a comfy ride. We booked the Club Suite, so upon arrival were taken up to the Club Lounge for check in. I already had the Excellence App on my phone from ERC, so I had done the pre-check in a couple days prior, which saved us (and the staff) time. We arrived at noon, so after a prompt and efficient check-in, we were off to grab some lunch and lounge around until the room would be ready at 1500. 10/10 Grounds/Atmosphere: As expected, everything was very well maintained! Grounds crew and maintenance staff are doing an exceptional job. It’s a perfect blend of modern amenities and a tropical vibe; palm trees, thatched roof structures, etc. The property is not too expansive which makes it easy to get around, yet spaced out enough that it doesn’t seem crowded. Depending on where your room is at, and if there’s an activity going on nearby, you will hear it inside your room though. We’d gone to bed early the night of the Cirque show that is done in the main pool, it was loud! 9/10 Room: We were in 8451, an Excellence Club, oceanfront two story rooftop suite with plunge pool. “Is Excellence Club worth it?”……Honestly, probably not. It is nice though and we’ll do it again, but strictly from a monetary/value standpoint, you’re going to get taken great care of and have a wonderful time even if you book the most modest, non-club room. Our room was situated perfectly! 8451 and 8454 are the two corner rooms on the top floor building 8. FYI-There are other rooftop suites on this building that offer zero privacy from higher views. Housekeeping did a sensational job all week; 10/10 for her! Our refrigerator was nice and cold; we didn’t have issues we’ve heard others having. At one point our safe malfunctioned and would not open. Within minutes of calling it in, the security staff came and reset it for us. Initially the room thermostat would only go down to 70. A call to the concierge and they were able to remotely lower it to 67, which is allegedly their lowest setting. It didn’t
