This is paradise. Whether you're here for relaxation or for activities, Punta Faro's got your back. As a family of 6 there's a plethora of requests and flavors. This is an average day: wake up and exercise on my sea view patio. Breakfast buffet with eggs to your liking and Colombian specialties like arepas. Kayaking around Mucura. Diving with Felipe who's been here since 93 and discovered the spots himself. He's a wonderful and skillful dive master that has taught my son well, he made PADI open water this week! Lunch with 3 courses and so much choice for each one. Snorkeling around a wreck and small reef in front of the beach. Massage in the spa. Tennis on the clay court. Beers on the sea view terrace. Dinner in the garden. And luckily I have 4 kids to do all this with as my wife would go nuts if she would have to keep me busy. There are also many Balinese style beds in the shade or the sun to relax. Other activities: catamaran, stand up paddle board, petanque, swimming with luminescent plankton. This was the highlight so far of our Colombia trip after 3 days being harassed in the streets of Cartagena. We needed this 6 day retreat. One thing you won't find here: music. Very good choice. Also, they are a privately owned hotel that works with local people and supports the fishermen in saving the turtles.

El hotel Punta Faro de isla Mucura es una excelente opción para quien quiera encontrarse consigo mismo. Es un lugar para el sosiego, la reflexión y la contemplacion. Mi esposa y yo fuimos felices. Fue una linda experiencia que recomendamos al mundo entero. Verónica y Oscar, propietarios del hotel son anfitriones extraordinarios. Recomendado por mil.

Die Überfahrt mit dem Schnellboot dauerte 2 Stunden, bereits der Empfang für das CheckIn am Hafen hat gut funktioniert. Die Koffer waren sicher und trocken verstaut worden im Boot. Es lohnt sich ein Stirnband/ Mütze oder Buff Schal mitzunehmen, evt eine leichte Jacke, es windet sehr stark auf dem Boot. Wir wurden nicht nass während der ganzen Bootsfahrt. Es gibt während der Bootsfahrt Erschütterungen. Wir wurden freundlich empfangen und auf Englisch instruiert. Danach gab es zuerst Lunch 👍. Unser Superior-Zimmer mit Meerblick war gross, sauber und sehr funktional eingerichtet. Das Zimmer ist abschliessbar, hat einen normalen Zimmersafe und eine Klimaanlage. Das W-LAN hat recht gut funktioniert. Die ganze Anlage ist wunderschön, wie im Paradies, alle waren immer sehr freundlich und alles war sehr gut gepflegt. Wir haben unsere 4 Tage sehr genossen. Speziell ist die Rücksichtnahme bei Allergien, sie haben mir immer genau gesagt was ich essen kann und sehr oft auch etwas separat zubereitet - vielen herzlichen Dank!!! Ich hatte keine Bauchschmerzen! Ein grosses Dankeschön. Wir haben 2x eine wohltuende Paarmassage genossen mit Sicht aufs Meer. Wir konnten auch viele Vögel und Leguane beobachten. Die Inselrundfahrt war sehr informativ und hat uns sehr gut gefallen. Die Planktontour war aufgrund des Mondlichtes nicht erfolgreich. Danke nochmals für die tolle, sehr freundliche Betreuung durch das ganze Personal! 👏👍

Il posto È un vero paradiso per la posizione di cui gode. Acqua cristallina , ambiente pulito personale cordiale e gentile nell insieme veramente un bel posto. Ma.. basterebbe veramente poco per renderlo ancora più speciale . In spiaggia ci sono lettini ma non c’è un ombrellone per ripararsi la testa dal sole. Ci sono ma sono più lontani I lettini sono belli ma stanno solo in una posizione . Il buffet è buono, semplice e cibi fresco ma non c’è tovaglia o la tavola un po’ curata . Inoltre se hai per caso fame fuori dall orario non c’è niente. Devi aspettare l orario In ogni caso il Servizio non c’è , anche se vuoi acqua in spiaggia o qualsiasi altra cosa Insomma per un 4 stelle vorrei qualcosa adeguato. Nell insieme è tutto piacevole .. ma magari basterebbe qualche accortezza in più .

Eu e meu marido ficamos 2 noites neste hotel. A ilha fica há 2 horas de barco de Cartagena e vale cada centavo para relaxar. Não saímos do hotel. A água da praia é morna, transparente e você consegue ver peixes. Não há musica alta e as amenidades do banheiro são Loccitane. O quarto é super limpo e cheiroso. A comida do café da manhã, almoço e jantar estão inclusas e são saborosas. É estilo buffet e há um vidro que separa os hospedes para solicitar a comida (super higiênico). Amamos e super recomendamos!

My 82-year-old mom and I spent 3 nights at Punta Faro in a Superior room. What an incredible experience!!! We were cordially welcome and introduced to the area. It is a large piece of land with so much well-maintained vegetation that you do not see other people if you do not want to. We were lucky to experience only very-well-behaved kids, so our stay was tranquil and relaxing. Our room was towards the end of the property, so we truly had peace and quiet while looking at the sea shore about 5 yards away from our door. Our room was impeccable, comfortable, very spacious, with all you may want (fridge, coffee maker, etc.). There was a choice of daily housekeeping. The hammock outside and the good outside light-design made evenings with a book very enjoyable. The only small inconvenience is the key system which makes it super-easy to lock yourself out. The food was very good and fresh, with a nice variety and in lovely surroundings. Staff was attentive and polite. Yes, extra things (excursions, equipment, etc.) cost extra, but someone has to maintain them. I found the cost of rental and of drinks in-between meals very reasonable. The beach is cleaned every morning and is impeccable, water is warm, bottom with golden sand. What else can be added? People complain about the cost "in comparison" to other places, but you get transportation and all the food food, so it seems average cost overall. It is a tranquil place, very much different from any "resorts" or "all inclusives". No loud music, individual service, family-like atmosphere.

Mucura è un'isoletta dalle dimensioni maldiviane, sulla cui superficie si trovano un paio di strutture ricettive e un villaggio di locali. Hotel Punta Faro ne occupa la maggior parte con una serie di ampi bungalow affacciati sul mare o sulla natura lussureggiante dei suoi giardini. La spiaggia - attrezzata con sdraio comode - non è grandissima ma vi si trova quasi sempre posto, anche perché molti ospiti preferiscono le strutture all'ombra, sparse un po' ovunque nel giardino. Dal pontile partono le gite per lo snorkeling e altre escursioni marittime. Per chi ama nuotare, il mare di fronte alla struttura è balneabile fino a raggiungere una certa profondità, è ricco di pesci e non subisce gli effetti delle maree di altre località tropicali. Colazioni, pranzi e cene sono compresi nel pacchetto e si consumano nei 2 ristoranti o, la sera, sui piacevoli prati circondati dalle palme. Il menù non è ricchissimo ma abbastanza vario da offrire alternative per tutti i gusti. I piatti vengono serviti dal personale presso alcune postazioni 'semoventi'. Le bevande invece sono servite ai tavoli. Il personale è numeroso, molto cortese e attento alle esigenze della clientela. Quest'ultima è abbastanza selezionata.

Fantastic relaxation. Idyllic location - breezy point, white sand beach, immaculate grounds. Gorgeous dark wood buildings and furniture with abundant art. And incredibly friendly and helpful staff. However - perusing the few negative reviews - these are "Robinson Crusoe / Summer Camp" rooms - very comfortable but spartan. The food is plentiful and good - but its not great. If you need either of those, this is not for you. Also in Latin countries young children are not segregated the way Anglos do, so you need to be OK with lots of kids doing what kids do. Most of the staff speaks little English - hey it's Colombia, good time to learn some Spanish. And there is no "nightlife" - both of the resort bars are largely deserted in the evenings, and there is nowhere else to go on the island. But if you want tranquility, this place has it. When you need a jolt, kayak around the island, couple miles of fun. And we enjoyed wine on our veranda in the evenings rather than clubbing. Only real complaint is that internet access is sporadic, but that was also true in Cartagena. So - highly recommended.
